I'm tired of having to explain to waiters that I don't care about the stupid sides and toppings that just load you up on cheap carbs and just want the meat, preferably a double helping of it.This is easy at slop bowl places since I can ask for quad meat and nothing more but traditional sit down places don't make this level of flexibility clear on the menu (mos of the time the kitchen doesn't care, but they never tell the waiters this is allowed beforehand so it always ends up being a special request).Is ther a special term for what I want so I don't have to do the song and dance with waiters?

>>21943927>Is ther a special term for what I want so I don't have to do the song and dance with waiters?you can ask for a plate of only some specific meat and maybe some sauce on it or whatever you have in mind. they will understand what you want. the hesitation is that they won't know if the kitchen staff are permitted to do an off-menu dish like that and more importantly what to charge you for it. that's why there is an issue. if you just want a dish off the menu without bread or sides, they will not be confused if you say no bread or sides or whatever it is... but it's still the same price.
