You want the red ones that won't pick up flavors as much if you intend on making a variety of tears with it. The style and shape are great generally for anything loose-leaf in that portion size.

I use my kyusu for herbal blends and for darjeeling sometimes, though mostly for sencha. Chinese tea prefers a gaiwan, but it will probably be okay.
