ITT Post retarded/cringe food trends.

Hot honey fills me with an indescribable rage every time I see it, and its not even good.
>>
>>21950460
it's the worst that both the hot and honey worlds have to offer
>>
How did this bullshit get so many collaborations?
>>
Why does it make you so angry? It tastes good.
>>
Form over function instagram food.
>>
>>21950460
Since honey doesnt spoil that fadslop could be around forever assuming the hot is preserved dino dna style
>>
Real fatherless and/or virgin behavior to be mad over food like this
>>
>>21950460
never in my life have I been bothered by, or enraged because someone else likes some food. but then I'm not retarded.

Does anyone remember when chipotle-flavored anything was a trend? This was pre-sriracha.

The fault of Epic Meal Time.

Marketing is a multibillion dollar field for a reason. It can give stupid shit like spicy honey value by manipulating social perceptions with a few well placed investments in campaigns and brand deals. Spicy honey is of course completely worthless, but for a time, people really wanted to pay for it because they BELIEVED it had value.

>dubai chocolate
>freeze dried candy
>dill pickle everything
>>

yes that one was kind of weird because most other trends have a bunch of products that benefit from it that people buy at the store, but nobody ever really went crazy for cans of chipotles or chipotle sauces or chipotle potato chips like you see with truffle and pickle and sriracha. that chipotle tabasco is the only chipotle product i know of that isnt the actual peppers.
>>
>>21950460
Honey is fine. This combo brand is cringe though.
>>
>>21950500
chipotle tabasco is good THOUGH

Chipotle mayo is probably the only other example. I also use pic related but don't know anyone else that does.
I didn't know there was a craze though, when was that?

had to have been like 15 years ago or something. i dont remember any actual products they were selling. maybe some chipotle mayo burger.
chipotle powder is great. it's good on anything.
>>

Americans fly into a rage at anything which reminds them they're not the center of attention, even culinary trends.
>>
>>21950500
How long ago was that? I first heard about chipotle flavored stuff in like the early 2010s but I didn't see it as a trend, most of the chipotle flavored stuff from then is still around as well. Maybe I'm under a rock or in the wrong area or something.
>>
I sell a hot honey I make with chipotle peppers. I have money back guarantee. Nobody has ever taken me up on that guarantee. People come back for more. I have people asking me for something hotter, so I'm going to work on a habenaro blend. t. beekeeper.

and tajin everything

I love that stuff. By which I mean that SPECIFIC stuff. I've tried half a dozen other brands of "chipotle powder" and none of them are as good as the McCormick Gourmet line. I can almost never find the stuff when I run out, it seems like grocery stores can only get it intermittently.

Whole Foods' "chipotle" offering was particularly shitty, it was a mix that was mostly just salt.

Longer than that, I was living in Seattle at the time, so about 25 years (can't be more than 30, can't be less than 22, hello FBI here is your datamining datapoint for the day). Jack-in-the-Box was advertising a "chipotle burger", where the commercials showed the Jack character mispronouncing "chipotle" in half a dozen ways including "chipoodle".

Found the commercial, it was 2003:

From the commercial, looks like it was a chicken sandwich rather than a hamburger.

I tried domino’s hot honey pepperoni pizza. It just tasted like a pizza with a big dump of honey on it.

Who's the gay?
>>
At least this didn't ramp up the prices like other trends usually do
>>
>sweet and salty food combos make me big mad!!
Go to a therapist you miserable fags
>>
>>21950460
It is good and you only dislike it because it's popular and you have 4chan contrarianism.
>>
>>21950779
>freeze dried candy
I feel most people bought it once then never agian. Shits way too expensive.
>>
>>21951109
My only issue with it is that's it's easy to make, yet considered "artisanal". Almost every farmers market I've been too has a dedicated hot honey seller, and in my opinion crafted goods should have more effort put into them.

>>21950861
it's from brooklyn
get a personality
>>

>It just tasted like X with a big dump of honey on it.
This is my biggest gripe with it.
It doesn't combine with or elevate much of anything, so you wind up with a dish that really is the sum of its parts and nothing more.
>>
>>21951047
You really expected something good and unique from fucking dominos?

Go to a real pizza place anything thats not a MAJOR FUCKING brand name. that means NO Ceasars, no pizza hut, no poppa johns. and than see if its any good.
