I'm going to be on the west coast soon. What eating establishments should I make sure to try while I'm there? I've heard mixed opinions about pic related, some say it's the be-all and end-all of fast food burgers and other say it's mediocre at best. For reference, everything will be compared to Culver's, that's my reference point.
>>21951043TommysAnd try some local places that aren't fast food
>>21951043As someone born and raised in los Angeles I say that In and Out is just an okay burger. Don't get me wrong I love it and get it regularly. However in my mind the burger is a solid 5/10. But this is because this is the burger that is the benchmark and ruler to which I compare other burgers to. In and out is a solid basic burger with no grills or anything that makes it special, but it's basically the burger that asshole chef would make at the end of that pretentious movie. Don't get your expectations too high, but don't expect garbage. It's just a solid average burger.
>>21951043In n out is great especially for the price, just make sure to specify animal style for the burgers (and add chopped chillies if you like a bit of spice)
Roberto's. Try the Machaca for breakfast: white people love that shit.
>>219510635/10 isn't average, it's terrible
>>21951074This, 5/10 is a failing grade
>>21951074>>21951075Then you would hate it. I say this because I've had burgers that are above and beyond what makes a burger a burger. But I've also had slop that I didn't believe was called a burger but was. In and out is right in the middle. It's what I expect a middle of the road nothing special burger to be. Maybe I should have said something like I base it on a scale on the place of Zero. Right in the middle of both sides. It's neither amazing nor bad in any way, it's practically the ontological burger.
>>21951081I'm not reading all that nonsense, sonDon't tell me what I like and don't like Lest I put it in your asshole, sonOP get a 3 x 3 (Three by Three) Animale Style, 2 fries, and a coffee
Tommy’s is amazing. In N Out is great too, people just seethe because it’s overhyped. It won’t change your life but it’s a great burger for relatively cheap, and they pay their workers well which is a nice business practice. >>21951081 is not a real Angeleno, he wants to be special saying “ackshually look at me, I think In N Out is mid” yet didn’t suggest a single alternative.
>>21951084I dated a girl who worked at In-N-Out and she used to bringe me the leftovere fries at the end of the nightAmanda was the best girl ever She's a really good mom now :)
>>21951043It's a good burger. Among the best "fast food" burgers. Good fries too. And at current prices it's a great value. It's more or less the only fast food establishment I eat from now whenever I need my junk food fix. Double double, animal fries and a pink lemonade are my go to order.
>>21951043I think at this point, as a lifelong Californian and In-n-Out fan, think you should try a double-double with their fries if only so you can get your own opinion on some of the most rated/controversial fast food out theret. wishes he could try Culver’s
>>21951043Could you be more specific than “the west coast”? The major cities are so far apart that we don’t really have regional chains that are in all 3 states
In-N-Out is pointless if you're in the Inland Empire where Farmer Boys exists. But the inland empire is a shit hole unless you're hiking in the forest off highway 18.
>>21951043>INNO: get the fries WELL DONE, they won't be crispy otherwise, and the texture's toward Burger King mealy if you don't. ANIMAL STYLE if you want the special sauce. WHOLE ONION, chopped's default. Mexican places, Sushi places, Tiki Bars.
