My kitchenaid has an increasingly bad wobble, making any attachments hit the outer side of the bowl.
I've done the neck pin reset, but it hasn't helped. I'm not sure what else to do..
Any tips?
Any recommendations for a cheaper stand mixer?
I got this one for Christmas 20yrs ago and it would be really tough on my budget to buy another.

There might be a YouTube video on how to fix that issue, what model is it?

What’s your budget for a replacement?

I wish I could say "contact the manufacturer for a repair man to visit or to find a repair centre near you"
But companies would much rather sell you new parts or a whole new system instead of maintaining a good one.
Reminds me of McDonald's holding a chokegrip on repair of their machines in the US

While true, kitchenaid does actually have a trouble shooter on their website, if OP hasn't checked that might be useful. He'll find it if he navigates to 'help'. I didn't look more deeply to see if there's anything good in it but it's worth checking out. Also worth contacting them about it to see if they could suggest something if it's not.

Better to just not buy a new mixer and get the problem with this one resolved if at all possible. If you do the up having to buy new, a handheld mixer will probably be the cheapest you can get, otherwise try to get a friend to take you to buy kitchen aid in a warehouse chain if you don't have membership yourself. I've seen them go for very cheap there.

How did you get your Bread Pepe to come out looking so nice? Mine came out retarded

I'll get the model later today, thanks
I COULD get a new kitchenaid like the 400-500 ones, I just don't want to. My savings could use that, it my car/yard/house. It's just a big expense.
I was hoping for like $200 options

I had no idea they had repair people at all, very interesting. I'll check out the help section on their website.
I've a friend with a Costco membership. I never need enough to justify the cost of those places. Can't stockpile enough to make it with it lol

I can't take credit, I've had this meme for a long time. I like the retarded one too desu

i would assume its a bearing going bad, but thats just from general machine knowledge. last time i cracked open a stand mixer was an old oyster in the early 90s

I was once given a very nice Kitchen Aid mixer for Christmas.
Turned out I hardly ever used it.

there is an adjustment screw on the front just under the hinge. it is very hard to turn.

>>21955656
kitchenaid parts are very common and easy to get. there are tons of after market parts for them. I just fixed 6qt for someone I know.

Found my model number, and a site popped up that looks very helpful! KSM100PSWW Ultra Power

>>21956152
I think that’s AI desu, the colors don’t make sense to me

>>21956163
I used it all the time, especially for things like meatballs, shredding chicken, baking
I limped along by hoping the heads up just enough for the bumping to stop but that’s tiresome. May as well mix by hand
Pic of poor old bowl

>>21956263
I did try the adjustment screw at the front as well. I’m pissed because at this point the screw was actually too soft and now it’s fucking harder to deal with.

It’s cool that you have general machine knowledge
If it turns out to be the barring I’ll be sure to post as such

>I've a friend with a Costco membership. I never need enough to justify the cost of those places.
I don't know why you randomly brought up Costco, but: you can almost always find a discounted "new member" membership available on Groupon. I think I paid $20 for mine. This year when I renewed, they had a "Give the Gift of Membership" deal at Christmas which made it only $30 for me this year.

Every year in January (well, this time around it started in late December) they had a sale on peanut butter that makes it less than half the price of shopping at one of my local grocery stores. I always stock up when that sale hits. It literally pays for my membership for the year.

I just ran out of the stuff I bought in January 2025. It was fine until this final jar, which was definitely oxidized (rancid) on top (I bought too much last year because some warehouses were switching to Jif, and I hate Jif). Anyway, now I can start on the fresh stuff, which should last me until next January.
