i saw these at my local grocery outlet and decided to grab a pack. Has anyone tried them? How bad are they?My plan is to slice a couple, give em a sear and mix into mac n cheese.Any other ideas for super low quality sausage?
>>21955655also i was looking at the nutritional label. it has 11 grams of protein per serving. Whats the serving size? The entire package. Yes what you see pictured is 1 serving
>>21955655chorizo tastes bad.
>>21955665your mom tastes bad
>>21955655so i just got done cooking these little fuckers and i must say, they are not good. The flavor, not surprisingly< was far closer to hot dog than chorizo
>>21955898Sorry man, but look on the bright side, they are super cheap. They are probably the worst hot dog brand...but they are great for catching catfish if you fish. Soak them in a pack of red kool aid mix for a couple days and put them on a treble hook.
>>21955657how is that possible. post the label so we know you're not just retarded
>>21955670calm down there, sweaty.
Bar S hot dog
>>21955665Have you looked at the ingredients of most in store chorizo? It's gross.
Bar S makes the lowest quality meat products you can find in the US. It is the absolute bottom of the barrel (literally).
They are awful. I bought them once when I was literal poverty mode and unemployed(monthly food budget was ~ $50), and never bought them again. Even then, you're way better off spending your money on other forms of protein. It's been years since I was that poor, but I remember chicken leg quarters were like 0.59/lb for shitty chicken legs(locally I see them for ~ 0.79/lb now), but you at least get actual protein and still better than Bar S by a mile. Those Bar S hotdogs/sausages are basically emulsified fat, water, binder, and just enough "meat" to legally call it meat franks. They are trash, you will feel like trash eating them, and if you do eat them, I will consider you trash. If you're poor, buy chicken leg quarters or if you have some room in the budget and want some diversity, "splurge" on on sale pork shoulder, pork loin, turkey(really only during thanksgiving when whole turkeys are literally free), or prepared hams(likewise, dirt cheap during certain holidays like upcoming Easter). If you're lucky, your local market might do "manager specials" where about to go off meat is deeply discounted - just cook it right away and you're still way better off than fucking Bar S.As >>21955900 alluded to the only reason I would buy them now is for fishing/crabbing, but even then, I still prefer chicken legs because, even though they're bottom feeders, the shit they eat is still better than Bar S.
