Also what the fuck is special about a seafood boil every time I've had it even at places down south the meat had no flavor and everything was fucking COATED in bay seasoning. I love me some Old Bay, dont get me wrong (those Old Bay Goldfish are amazing), but everything sorta just tastes the same. Salty and mixed with the rest. The shrimp tastes like the sausage tastes like the taters tastes like..... and all of it has a vague hint of seasoning because the only part of the Old Bay that really *sticks* to the food is the salt.I would far prefer the individual ingredients get grilled and have the same seasoning on them. However, that is far more difficult than putting some old guy in front of a massive pot on a propane burner outside stirring for hours after he dumped all the ingredients, some water, and an entire box of seasoning into it. It is always some old guy thay has a "secret recipe" and his "secret recipe" is always some bullshit like "I use Vidalia Onions instead of white" or "I add my wife's toe cheese".
