What's a good replacement for white wine when a recipe calls for it? I can't be arsed to go to the liquor store for cheap wine just because fucking walmart refuses to carry it

just buy cooking wine, or one of those packs that has like 4 little wines you can just keep in the pantry for when you need a little wine in a dish.
unless you're an alcoholic, then theres no point because you'll drink it.
>>
None, cooking wine is vile. I don't like drinking wine but I like using it in cooking.
>>
brine from a jar of pickled vegetables or canned veggies
>>
verjuice and some sugar
grapefruit juice with white grape juice or apple juice
>>
I keep meaning to pick up a bag of cheap ass white wine for this kind of thing but I never do, instead I always dump $5-10 worth of good wine in a sauce pan

red wine

Here's your reminder to pick up some cheap white wine for cooking

I know of more than one "high end" place in my area that uses $3 Winking Owl Sauvignon Blanc from Aldi in their food.

Sorry, what?
I don't drink or cook, so I'm genuinely asking. A bag?
>>

A lot of places will use boxed wine to cook with, inside those boxes are bags of wine.
>>
>>21959214
How is a box (bag) better than a bottle???
>>
>>21959222
Cheaper
>>
>>21959222
It's usually cheap low quality wine. The bonus for winos is you get more wine for your money.
>>
>>21959222
It's easier for people to throw around to each other for the purposes of drinking it straight from the nozzle.
>>
>>21959222
Back in the day a lot of chicks like them because you cant bring glass on the beach, but you can have a box with a lot of wine
>>
>>21959222
Won't shatter into shards of glass requiring you to decontaminate the entire kitchen before resuming service if you drop it.

this guy has slapped the bag

Brandy

Dry vermouth. It keeps forever in the fridge, so just buy a bottle and keep it around for cooking.
