bought mushrooms two days ago, but didnt store them appropriately
is picrel still edible?

i cant tell if its part of the original fungus, because i'm not a huge nerd
but also i dont indulge in mushrooms often enough to encounter any fungus-on-fungus scenarios afaik
>>
What is this fungus??
>>
>>21959851
so you wanted to eat mushroom and now want to throw it away just because you got some extra mushroom on top of your mushroom?
>>
>>21959866
i am considering putting them in the bin
as we both know, fungi are not interchangeable, hence me asking
i am not a mycologist

>>21959861
firm mushrooms, but now with extra fluffies on
>>

>i am considering putting them in the bin

When in doubt, always throw out.
>>
>>21959851
dont eat, wtf
>>
>>21959851
its fine, its just extra flavor
>>
>>21959851
that's moldy, it's fine.
>>
>>21959851
how did you store them? I've seen mushrooms go bad hundreds of times and I've never seen them mold. they usually just get all mushy and slimy.
>>
>>21959851
if it's just white mold I'll throw away the ones the mold touched and save the other ones. there's a good chance that any produce you get at the store has been in a box with white mold or worse before it got to the shelf. that white mold that grows on fruits and veggies usually wont hurt you even if you eat it.
if it doesnt smell bad it's generally fine to eat.

I ate old mushrooms once and genuinely felt like i was going to die for a solid 30 minutes. Then i was just gassy for a few hours.
I had made them the night before in Mac n cheese for lunch at work. I knew they were old but they were just a little squishy, and i had already planned to cook them way down and thought that’d be good enough.
Ate less than half my lunch, and i can best describe it as a bad trip.
> tunnel vision
> cold sweats
> noises sounded distorted, ears ringing
> tracers/solid things looking kind of melty
> impending doom feeling
It was fucking terrible, but lasted about 30 minutes. I thought it had been hoooours too.
My boss walked by and i was still slumped half way in my chair and asked if i was alright lol
I always ate weird stuff in his opinion so it wasn’t even that strange to him when i groaned out “yeah, bad Mac n cheese” and finished the rest of the day fine.
I was kinda sweaty and trembly for a few hours now that i think about it?
But good fucking GOD i thought i was going to die
