Sidecar or whisky sour, depending on the weather.

guys, when a cocktail recipe asks for "lemonade" what does it really mean? is it sprite/7up type of thing or is it the traditional one made of sugar, lemon juice and water?
I cannot find a proper response to this, some people claim it is regional but that doesn't make much sense, you'd want the recipe to be universal I guess

I have never heard of a cocktail calling for "lemonade" but that most likely means the British interpretation of lemonade, i.e. lemon-lime soda. It wouldn't make any sense to call for lemonade in the sense of lemon juice and water since you could just say lemon juice.

blue lagoon for example, as wikipedia says: "The Blue Lagoon is a French cocktail featuring blue Curaçao mixed with vodka and lemonade."
and also the list of ingredients simply calls it lemonade
and as you start digging into that topic, checking forums or videos of people making it the confusion really begins

Mai Tais and Sazeracs for me lately. I'm still tweaking a tequila based tiki drink, but I'll sit there and play with it until I'm shitfaced, so that's a once-in-a-while kind of thing.

Whiskey + Chambord + Roobois (trademark pending)
a Sazerac is fine too

You misspelled "a mouthful of cock", because based on your picture you are exceptionally homosexual.

Vodka + soda water + cranberry juice + lime
>>

Replace the soda water with ginger beer and I'm sold. I call it a Bloody Moscow Mule.
>>
>>21963029
Replace the ginger beer with cranberry gingerale and the vodka with 2 gin, 1 rum, and 1 triple sec. I call it many things, but I think "The Bill Murray" is the one that caught on.

It's like the Black Tooth Grin, daterape version of a cosmo. Four of these things will go down like mother's milk with a honey chaser, and you'll be so helpless "Nobody will ever believe you" when you tell them you did it to yourself.

You ever try the Truck Bed Funeral from Archipelago in DC? Mezcal rather than tequila but it is/was fucking good.

All of that looks like it fucks pretty hard.
The Truck Bed looks like a pretty interesting spin on a Jet Pilot.
I've developed a love/hate love for the stupid tequila drink I'm developing. The heart of it is mid-level reposado, creme de violette (very little) and chili bitters, because "I knew these things would work together" despite the delicate balance (60mL tequila, 3 mL violette, 3 dashes chili bitters)...
Right now it's (in 'shots' unless otherwise indicated) 2 tequila, 1/2 curacao/triple sec, 1/4 white creme de cacao, 1/4 of an almond heavy falernum, 1 lime 3 pineapple, 1/2 barspoon violette, 1/2 barspoon fernet, spritz of absinthe (in the glass), shaken with a fistful of crushed ice, not strained, garnished with mint and a cinnamon stick.

I was using orgeat, but I think falernum's the better choice. Angostura comes and goes. Sometimes the creme de cacao's cocoa bitters or a pinch of cocoa powder - it's basically adding a round creaminess so it could probably be lactose powder instead. Cherry whiskey's not bad in it, but I find if it's too well balanced (between sour, herbal, and sweet) the cherry can actually make a lot of flavours disappear, including itself.
It's frustrating tweaking the edges off of a pretty fucking good drink, only to have entire parts of it just disappear.
