ITT: Name three foods you don't like and everyone else judges you.

I'll start:
>mexican
>soup
>popsicles
>>
i hate pickles (as in pickled cucumbers) but enjoy almost everything else thats been pickled, onions, peppers, eggs, shrimp, cauliflower etc
>>
>>21961942
Anything that smells like indian food spices
Black licorice
Anything pumpkin spice (other than pumpkin pie)
>>
>>21961945
oh three things, i dont like tomatoes and i dont like refried beans
>>
lamb's ear
salvia
white asparagus

>>21961946
>Black licorice
):<
>>
Judgments:
>>21961942
Interesting choices, especially just general 'soup', and 'Mexican'. I think you might hate the idea of these things more than soup or Mexican foot themselves.
>>21961945
Weird, but not unheard of. Is it a texture thing?
>>21961946
Cumin and fenugreek are the usual offenders
>>21961947
That's not three things.

I dislike durian, century eggs, and chicken with soggy skin - any variety, like Hainan chicken, Filipino adobo chicken.
>>
Smoked beef.
Passionfruit.
Ripe papaya.
>>
>>21961942
so i guess you really hate mexican soupsicles
>>
>>21961953
>That's not three things.
They were responding to their own post about pickles and adding two more things.
>>
>>21961969
I demand three more things
>>
>>21961953
>mexican foot
he actually fucking got you
you have to leave the thread now
>>
I don't think there is any food I hate that is exceptional, assuming we're not talking about things like fermented opossum rectums and weird delicacies like that but that's more because I likely won't have tried them. Probably the main things that come to mind are flavours. I flat out dislike aniseed, it spoils anything it touches and I also strongly dislike mint sauces/mint in cooking. I am fine with mint on its own or as mints the sweet/gum, but as an addition to another dish, it utterly overpowers everything else, it's like covering it in toothpaste, vile.
>>
>>21961953
>>21961962
yeah soup it's just not satisfying for me. liquidy bullcrap.
i might as well vape and drink tea instead.
except for like thai curry which you put it over rice and it becomes a meal.

mexican - they use weird ingredients and it's mushy. cilantro which I don't like. tortillas feels like biting into a baby's skin and having it stuck on the roof of my mouth. and then there's that orange rice which tastes like old shrimp. and when you mix chilies and lime together it tastes like vomit. give me a break

popsicles makes a mess and it's not even real food. you'll never be taken seriously with the stained mouth of a five-year-old. bite it and your gums hurt so you're just supposed to suck on this frozen juice? but don't suck too hard or you'll be left with flavorless ice. nope.
>>
>>21961978
Off I go
on my Mexican foot.
>>
>>21961975
jackie chan
jackie chan
jackie chan
>>
>>21961991
I agree. Jackie Chan is inedible.
>>
>>21961983
That's just the scurvy talking.
>>
Cod
Sweet style salsas like mango habanero
Bread and butter pickles
>>21961953
>century eggs
How have you tried them? It's like blue cheese in that it's a strong flavor that you need to acquire a taste for rather than dive right in. A good introductory preparation is pork and century egg congee.
>and chicken with soggy skin
Seconding this and extending it to all meats prepared that way. Skin is at its best crisped and browned, nothing makes me lose my appetite faster than when it's been rubberized.
>>
>>21961942
>sweet
>bitter
>fishy
>>
>>21961993
from what, no popsicles? kek
>>
>>21961983
>tortillas feels like biting into a baby's skin
what
>>
>>21961942

Deenz. I fell for the meme and bought a variety. All disgusting.
>>
>>21962012
yeah and they always have this sour smell when they heat up. I don't get it

>>21962015
I liked eating them until I noticed all the weird organs inside. One looked like a silver mylar balloon in there and it freaked me out
>>
>>21961975
ok eggplant, longan, and fermented shrimp paste
>>
>>21961996
My roommate bought some when we were hungover... cut one open, gagged at the smell, sliced two of them into 8ths and spent the morning trying to find a pairing that wasn't terrible. Tried them again without the mild alcohol poisoning, still did not enjoy... but I could see using them more as a seasoning than a focus.
>>
>>21962012
>not eating the veal of people
ngmiitdedw
>>
>>21962022
Yeah that's definitely not how you want to eat them. Go find yourself some pork and century egg congee at a restaurant and fix your first impression.
>>
>>21961983
>>21962012
I have this problem with cocktail shrimp. Eating it feels like taking a bite out of human flesh and I just can't.
>>
>>21961942
Green bean sprouts
Zucchini
Capers

>soup worst food
You are not human fuck off back to saturn
>>
>>21962028
not gonna make it in the day everyone's dead weight?
>>
>>21962059
I was thinking 'In this dog-eat-dog world' but I like yours better.
>>
>>21961942
>peas
>peas
>peas
I got called a tastelet on this board before for saying I hate peas.
I hate peas but split pea soup is okay.
>>
>>21962089
how about this, you give me the peas and I'll make yucky soup and give it back to you after taking half of the fresh peas as my comfort food
>>
>>21962092
Seconding this. Peas are delicious and split pea soup is disgusting.
>>
>>21962089
You do you, boo. My son doesn't like mushrooms or chard. He's allowed to because he eats pretty much everything else. If you aren't generally picky, fuck anyone who mocks you for not liking a single thing. Not that you need a literal who telling you this but you're allowed to have preferences.

brussel sprouts (smell of death no matter how they are cooked)
beets (taste like wet dirt)
>>
>>21962040
>t feels like taking a bite out of human flesh
that would be pork.
>>
>>21962089
I have not knowingly eaten a pea in at least 45 years.
>>
>>21961942
>makes a thread about picky eating so people can be judged
>no one judges anyone despite that being the norm on /ck/
is this bizzaro /ck/?
>>
>>21962224
Well, yeah, that's what human flesh is supposed to taste like. But for some reason it's shrimp that feels taboo. And only if it's cooked lightly. Sear it or overcook it and I no longer feel like I'm committing cannibalism.
>>
>>21961942
Peas
Hot peppers
Anchovies
>>
>>21962252
I always thought anchovies were 100% a love or hate thing, but there are definitely good eyebrow fish and bad eyebrow fish.
>>
>>21961942
Avocado
Anything with blood, it's shit but poorfags from the 3rd world push it as a "delicacy" because they can't afford proper non-bloodless food.
Asparagus
>>
>>21962318
>non-bloodless food

I am not particularilly fond of olives (I do love olive oil)
I find pasta bolognese to be revolting.
I guess I also dislike star anise but I can't really think of any foods that have it as an ingredient. it makes me think of a shitty gin and tonic drink.
as for judging OP I don't really have a strong opinion on Mexican food since it's not a thing where I live. Soup is understandable and so are popsicles.
>>21961945
Do you have a McDonalds hamburger without pickles? Anyways, very understandable. (I do like pickles, but I do not love them)
>>21961946
I am not a picky eater but I could do without curry. The smell of a kitchen where a curry dish is being cooked is not pleasant.
>>21961947
>I don't like tomatoes
Sorry anon, but I will have to judge you for that one.
>>21961950
Is white the same as yellow? Anyways, you should trying have canned asparagus with medium boiled eggs scrambled in to pieces on top of them with a bit of olive oil and lemon juice.
>>21961953
Never had durian (I know it's supposed to smell terrible) Also never heard of century eggs where you from anon?
>>21962252
A lot of people dislike anchovies. You could try fresh ones if canned ones are too salty I guess. I had a anchovies pineapple pizza yesterday and it was quite good.
>>21962318
I feel the most judgy of this anon. I advice you to try having avocado with soy sauce and blood sausage with little apple pieces or something.
>>

possibly
i'm not a big fan of asparagus to begin with, and every time i've had the canned ones they were just a mushy, slurpy mess
but might give that a try one day
>>

Canada. We have a lot of Chinese, Filipinos, and Indonesians. Right up until we were New India, we were a Chinese colony.

>Also never heard of century eggs where you from anon?
Century eggs, also called preserved egg, is a common style of egg preservation used in Chinese cuisine. Outside of China and Taiwan, you have to go somewhat out of your way to be able to get them. In fact, I haven't even had luck finding them at Asian grocers where I'm from, only in restaurants. Still, I'm surprised you haven't heard of them, they gained some notoriety in the early internet from people recording themselves trying them plain much the way >>21961953 did.

The texture, taste, and appearance are considerably different than that of an unpreserved egg. As anon learned the hard way, eating it straight is not particularly beginner friendly at all, and even with dishes where it's eaten as the star ingredient with a simple sauce accompanying, traditional Chinese cuisine has many dishes with different flavor profiles served at once, which helps to balance strong flavors out, in addition to the ever-present rice.

veal* according to William Seabrook:
https://allthatsinteresting.com/what-does-human-taste-like
>>
>>21963348
nta: unless it is tomato you grew yourself they are at best meh and usually almost tasteless.

refried beans have a gag inducing texture. the only way I found I can eat them is by adding a ton of taco sauce/salsa to them. I want to puke if there is a whole bean in them beans are vile when whole
>>

I'll eat the most fetid smelling, rank cheese. But Sour Cream may as well be Cheese Wiz or American Cheese squares, except vile. It has to be the absolute freshest stuff to be palatable and used in moderation (which the absolute insano motherfuckers using it never have).

Fuck Sour Cream.

How does anyone expect Indian food to taste good? An overly spicy bowl of unappetizing hot slop that smells like an armpit and gives you diarrhea. Looks the same going in as it does coming out. Only complete fucking retards eat this shit.

Those videos of indians preparing their food pressing their syphilitic toes and scratching their flea covered hair tells me all I need about this shitty "cuisine" and the shitheads who sell it and/or eat it.
>>
>>21963827
Not all Indian food is spicy or slop.

Thai curry is great.
>>
so this thread is just all autists with texture issues?
>>
>>21963854
No, it's men of culture with a refined palate demanding more from their food than flavourless, mushy slop. You're welcome to be a garbage disposal that eats from trough, but don't force your eating habits onto others.
