I need to bring a dessert for easter dinner tomorrow and have nothing. I usually make a chocolate pie (pic related) but i feel like its played out. Give me some ideas. Ill buy whatever.
Meringue cookies
>>21962815I might try this. Seems ez. Id pipe them so they look nice and put something inside maybe.
Fruit pizzaIt's relatively easy and one of my favorites.
>>21962827Oops! Wrong pic.Happy Easter
>>21962828No. I dont like raw fruit as a desert. Itd have to be some sugary mash. Like apple pie filling or something
>>21962813My grandmother would make a rabbit shaped single layer coconut cake.
>>21962855Well bully for that biddy
>>21962855Ive never made a cake. Ive made cookies and cinnamon rolls and brownies. Never a cake. Did she just make a square cake and cut it into bunny shape?
>>21962813>Dessert for easterTraditional in Britain is Hot Cross buns. They are sweet with loads of cinnamon, served with butter and you can use jam.Find a recipe online. But find a British one, I have seen American ones and they are dire.
>>21962858She had a bunny shaped cake pan she baked it in I think
>>21962858My mom would do one like this from two round cake pans.
Op here. Ive decided im gonna make a key lime pie.
>>21962813No-bake cheesecake with mini-eggs on top.
>>21962813I made rabbit/carrot shaped carrot cakelets with cream cheese frosting.
>>21962815I just tried to do that and i mixed the sugar in too fast and ruined them. Im also out of sugar so i cant try again.
>>21963379Do better next time. Dnce you get the technique right, you realize it's retardedly easy. I make them for potlucks all the time.
>>21962989you should have decorated them with a simple icing outline
>>21962813I volunteered for dessert for a large extended family dinner (30ish people) I'm bringing chocolate terrine, strawberry cheesecake bars, and a lemon tart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCOqVu2sYJshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrowLaIBmB8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRbIdcc2aa8
Op again. I made my key lime pie. Everything was good, thw filling seems perfect and i added a drop of green food coloring to make it a little more green instead of that off green custard color it naturally is. i added too much vanilla to the whipped cream though, so theres a mild alcohol taste in it. Hopefully itll be masked by the lime of the pie. I knew it was just sugar and vanilla so i just kept adding vanilla until it tasted right but it never did until i added an uncomfortable amount and didn'twanna add anymore. Theres like maybe 5 tsp of vanilla in the cream. Then i zested some lime on top and added a little pink sprinkles for easter colors.
>>21964435>Theres like maybe 5 tsp of vanilla in the cream. You ruined it. The lime is only going to amplify the alcohol taste.
>>21964678It wasn't ruined. The filing and zest was so limey that you could hardly taste the whipped cream. It was an intense pie
>>21965054So you admit it had "intense" flavour but deflect away from the excessive vanilla essence? Perhaps your emotional attachment to the pie is clouding your judgement?
>>21965083The intense flavor was the lime flavor. Not the whipped cream. Id cut back on the lime juice next time. I have no reason to lie to you
