After doing keto for half a year and returning to my usual diet I now know I need to cut carbs, yeast and dairy in order to be normal.Last time I got sick and easily picked up injuries constantly from working out while on keto. I kept up on replenishing electrolytes. Anyone else had a similar issue? And how lenient can you be with daily carbs? Some say 20g, some say 50g. Just purely for a variety in the diet.
Why are you afraid of yeast?
>>21965650Most likely untreated mental illness.
>>21965643what do you mean by "be normal"? do you get acne from that stuff? do you mean getting fit? Some carbs make me feel bloated and make pimples show up on my face, so I avoid those specifically, at least. Going keto and carnivore is nice sometimes to clean up my face, but I can't stay on it constantly. Makes my runs feel bad, let alone lifting. As for how lenient you can be, it depends on your body. Try buying some keto markers (I think they sell those in pharmacies) and measure how much (or how little) it takes to take you out of ketosis.
>>21965650>>21965664I have hidradenitis suppurativa, mild overall, but have a huge deep lesion from it. Never ever want to experience this again.Oh, you can check your levels? I'll definitely get that, super helpful. Some vegetables have carbs, below 10%, are those carbs the same as from wheat?
>>21965664>Makes my runs feel bad,Fucking thank you.People on /fit/ keep telling me to eat more meat but I honestly feel bogged down, sluggish and unable to run well if I've eaten a lot of meat.
>>21965684What does yeast have anything to do with that?
>>21965692It's inflammatory for me.
>>21965684Painful. Whereabouts? I had it in my right armpit. Absolute agony, a lot of nerve endings there. I've had a few operations for different things and a few bad injuries before and my wife was always surprised when I didn't complain much or show pain, so she was shocked when it was so severe one time that I actually wept. Have you taken tablets? Or is that not an option? I'm asking because I went on a long term course of two different types, I can't for the life of me remember what they were called as it was a long time ago, but one was an antibiotic and one was a retinoid. The combo wiped it out.
>>21965643how bald are you?
>>21965701Also, my advice is to stay away from wheat - no pasta or bread, but other carbs are fine. You know your own body, but I'm expecting the wholesale shut down of all of these food types may have tricked you into thinking you need to cut carbs and dairy out.
>>21965701Without fail, keto lards believe any random thing they hear. Lol.
>>21965688Yeah, same. I mean, I don't feel like eating a ton of carbs helps either, but a banana and some yoghurt before a run is comfy. >>21965684Not necessarily. Carbs come in many different forms and the fiber content is important too.
>>21965706The mild ones are here and there. But I had an absolutely massive one burst deep inside my thigh, seat-cushion area. It grew to the size of a mandarin, I drained like 25cl of blood out of it.It has grown into a larger vein and for a month now I've been bleeding now and then. 3 times profusely to the point of near fainting. But it's healing up. Pain is nothing to me, it's the depression of the possibility for this to repeat itself at this level. I feel like a tranny.I'm getting an appointment as soon as I can walk normally again. I had a whole week where I thought I was in the clear, but then it bled like a pig again.I'll bring that combo up, thanks.>>21965708Just normal thinning from age, hairline remains normal.>>21965712I've been eating only sourdough bread for years, but the combination of too much pasta and protein whey is surely what triggered this big one, it makes sense in the timeline.>>21965713I have IBS and psoriasis as well, both which I have managed to get under control, but it all points to these culprits.>>21965714I'll definitely experiment with other carbs once I get back on a solid ketosis like I did last time. So far I've been taking notes of when my blood sugar spikes after different amounts of pasta/rice. Ordered a breath ketone meter to get things started and see how it goes from there.
>>21965727>I'll bring that combo up, thanks.I looked it up to jog my memory, the antibiotics were clindamycin and the retinoid was acitretin. Obviously people's body chemistry is different, but I had about 3 years of trying different things and nothing worked, I saw some specialist who was doing a case study for some entire European body and this is what worked. It took about 6 months to eradicate it. They kept me on them for another 9 months to blitz it. The only problem was chronic dehydration and it gave me some sort of photosensitivity where I'd get these sort of blisters if I was out in direct sunlight. Good tradeoff though.
>>21965750Many thanks, if there's a possibility to eradicate it, I'd fucking sacrifice a limb.
>>21965764Just dried everything out completely. Obviously the tracts and scar tissue are still there, but I'm talking probably from 2011 until now I haven't had a problem and at times my lifestyle has been shit, the odd 6 months here and there and didn't have any flare ups.
>>21965643>cheese is allowed>milk is notRape whoever made this image. Seriously. They should eat shit.
>>21965773Oh that's an interesting tactic, drying them out. But it's an autoimmune disease, how does drying things out stop it entirely?Either way, glad for you.
>>21965782Cheers, I hope you get some proper help, I know doctors don't like you dictating a solution. But as I say, this doctor was tasked with this. I don't think drying out would be the medical term... Something to do with normal skin cell turnover and reducing inflammation and shrinking glands. They also gave me a topical solution on top of that but it really fucked me up, I stopped using after a month even though I still got the prescriptions. I ln terms of dietary advice, as I say, I cut out wheat - but I had rice and potatoes a lot, plus wheat free bread. It worked for me. I never stopped dairy etc or general carbs. Now I don't have the ailment, I eat what I want, but I made sure to keep a balanced diet from then on. Apart from when I was living like a rockstar type periods
>>21965775Yeah I always thought that was a bit silly. Unless you're lactose intolerant then you miss out on a lot of nutrition by only eating cheese instead of drinking milk too. Too obsessed with avoiding carbs at that point.
>>21965643>Last time I got sick and easily picked up injuries constantly from workingDid you still have a varied diet? How much of the electrolytes were you consuming? Have you tried to see if there's a type of carb you do tolerate? That can help give your muscles energy for exercise and with hydration. Carbohydrate intolerances are common but it's rare to not tolerate every type of carb.
>>21965727>IBS and psoriasisI've had these issues and a lot of it came from food allergies. Nuts, grains, and beans/legumes are common causes of this. That's probably why those things were often processed so heavily traditionally. I also figured out I have issues with sucrose and starch but not honey. Do you have any symptoms of nutritional deficiencies like fatigue or shortness of breath?
>>21965650Schizophrenia
>>21965643>And how lenient can you be with daily carbsAren't all bioavailability equal. More muscle mass, more physical activity, the less it matters, topping them off. Eat more fermented shit, your gut's ground zero for immunity and endurance-energy.
>>21965684>starchy veg>fructussy fruit>>21965664>runs feelsbadman People get in trouble for lack of salt (especially w/ insomnia). Have more, especially w/ keto flu symptoms.
>>21965727>I've been eating only sourdough bread for yearsFortified (iron and trash xenofolate) Wheat is the trouble, otherwise sourdoughs are fine cheat breads.
