Do people really sell “plates” from their houses in America? Has anyone paid for a “plate” from a strangers house? How was it?
>>21966174I have never heard of this as a concept.
This is a brown coded activity.
>>21966174No. Go outside and touch grass.
>>21966181No it isn't lol
I think that's more of a big city ghetto area thing.
>>21966174Indians do tiffin services. These are home cooked Indian meals that you can pickup or get delivered daily. If you're near any large city you can probably find multiple tiffin delivery services. They advertise on FB marketplace.I've known a bunch of Indian guys who use these. They're way cheaper than Doordash.Picrel is a local tiffin service, today's menu:Choice of 4 rotis or rice box + two veg curries for $10 delivered.
imagine all the joys of eating out, but with none of the food safety!
>>21966174It's a scam to turn EBT into cash.
>>21966174I usually order a plate, pick it up from their home and then report them to the cops
YesIn hispanic communities, its not something advertised. Only word of mouth or through social media. Like, the “churro guy” was a guy who would occasionally make churros by hundreds, would take orders and do drop offs until he ran out, or the tamale woman would make a few hundred tamales to sell on a Tuesday out of her front door.Selling full on plates is a black thing. No restraunts in the ghetto = a lady selling out of her house. Plus, black Americans enjoy soul food, which can’t be found in stores or restraunts, so they make it at home Write people don’t have an equivalent
>>21966234the white people equivalent is the ghost kitchen
>>21966234>No restraunts in the ghetto = a lady selling out of her house. Plus, black Americans enjoy soul food, which can’t be found in stores or restraunts, so they make it at homeNone of these statements are true.
>>21966174Ghost kitchen kinda thing. Very nasty, no food safety at all
>>21966241I'm pretty sure black people definitely enjoy soul food, how is that not true?
Selling home cooked food is legal in California as long as you report the income.
>>21966279No one does
>>21966234>implying
>>21966234>Write people don’t have an equivalentAhem, the hot dog man
>>21966174Its a nog and Mexican thing. And its cancer. Imagine trying to leave your house and apartment complex and there's niggas eating and leaving trash everywhere. People are parked to pick up food so you cant park in the area where you live until some of them leave.Every time something exists outside of "white culture" its for a good fucking reason.
>>21966293>nog and MexicanAnd Asian. And Italian. And Cambodian. And Lao. And Puerto Rican. And Jewish. And Indian. And Sri Lankan. And Pakistani. And Russian. And Polish. And so on. Also, there was a TV show I can't remember the name of with the dumb guy from Drew Carey playing the dad and his fat wife was selling lasagna out of their home kitchen in wealthy, suburban New England for some reason, I don't remember. What I do recall is that the family had a pet pig named Hans Gruber.
>>21966293>and there's niggas eating and leaving trash everywhereYou know people who set up a dining area?>People are parked...The right way to do it is delivery only and receive locations through whatsapp.
>>21966174ewwWould not order
>>21966174https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ-09O4tMsU&pp=ygUOcmRjd29ybGQxIGZvb2Q%3D&ra=mI've never been but I would, no doubt.
>>21966204I only ever saw it on the buy sell trade page for the army base I was on
>>21966174People sell cooked food on facebook marketplace, usually in the hood.Buying this shit is flat out retarded no matter how poor you are and I shouldn't have to explain why
When I worked construction, sometimes a guy would bust out the smoker and sell delicious cheap lunches to all the workers. They'd take orders in the morning or day before, cook it all day, and have everything ready to go for everyone by lunch. No government bullshit involved, just a couple old men and a huge smoker drinking beers in their yard
>>21966174i read that women in india do this too, generates good income for the household.
>>21966192botbrain
>>21966317not a single white ethnicity listed. you didn't disprove him.
>>21966620>blonde hair, blue eyes and kidnapped by Nazis to raise as perfect models of Aryan-ness>not whitelol
>>21966620>you didn't disprove himNot one of those ethnicities was "nog" nor Mexican, you blithering retard. That post absolutely proved her wrong because her only point was "nogs and Mexicans". I'm sorry that makes your uterus so enraged. :/
>>21966286I have never seen a white hot dog vendor in my life.
>>21966174Blacks do it, they usually pay for the supplies with EBT and then pocket the cash they make from it
>>21966783>they usually pay for the supplies with EBTHow? There are only certain products you can buy with EBT.
>>21966236bingo
>>21966797???? yeah no shit you can only buy groceries and uncooked food no prepared or warm foodit's why subway is the most common restaurant chain in the USA they let you use food stamps on cold cut subs no other fast food place has lobbied for that privileged
>>21966801You said supplies and not ingredients. >niggers do this and thatAnd if they're not reporting their income, then they're keeping it low key. You think they're going to risk any retribution from someone getting sick?
>>21966254Because there are a lot of soul food restaurants around the country. There is one within 30 minutes of my house. Black people can absolutely get soul food at restaurants; the type of black people that buy full plates from some rando are the type that don't go out to restaurants that aren't fast food that often.
>>21966620>whites don't have people over for cookoutsYour white neighborhood must have been shit. My white neighbors always came over, even the one random Peruvian family living on my block would come by.
>>21966813A cook out is different than selling platesI know a lot of white ladies who sell baked goods, not full dinners
>>21966279There are often laws that are pretty much intended as bake sale exemptions. Where, you can sell food without having to pass kitchen health inspections. If, you stay under a certain revenue threshold per year.
>>21966801Oh boy, I have a hunch you don't really like Black People
>>21966819So I can poison people as long as I don't make too much moneyAMERICA LADIES AND GENTS
>>21966174Never tried but i would. Good food is good food. Doesnt matter if its home cooked or a top tier restaurant.
It's a pretty blue-collar thing, I worked at a plastic fabrication plant and there was a woman who lived nearby who'd sell slices of meatloaf and mashed potatoes for $3.
>>21966801this mentality is so sad. I hope one day you find the love you've been denied
>>21966804Lmao as if they think that far ahead.
>>21966824Go ahead and poison whoever you like as long as you're prepared for personal retribution. Which could be a lawsuit or something more physical depending on where you are.
>>21966932Thing is you're a little bitch who is goong to do shit while I keep selling plates from the trunk of my Altima
>>21966234>Write people don’t have an equivalentMaybe not in America, but it's pretty common in europe to have people sell their home produce for people in honesty boxes. Or it was common until 2016.
>>21966174I don't mean this in a racist way, but it's mainly a black and Hispanic people thing.
>>21966444Yeah thats what he said
>>21966192
They do in Costa Rica. Right out of people's 's garages.
>>21966174I don't see the problem with it, I'm Hispanic and grew up with family friends making "plates" for when they needed extra money, raising funds for some event, etc... it'd be a full ass plate for $5 to $10 usually. I know with the nigs they use it as a form of ebt fraud then I understand the apprehension from buying via Facebook marketplace. What are the reasons to be against it? what are you, gay germaphobes? the kitchens i've seen are cleaner than restaurants so it's not that, maybe it's a race thing. Are you racist /ck/? >>21966234This is what I've assumed
>I'm angry with people for doing something that I don't have to, and am not, getting involved in. Wew. I can't believe how pathetic people are sometimes. Is this place frequented by nothing but 65 year old women? There's something very wrong in your lives.
>>21966236You mean this crap?https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qectRXY6vGE&pp=ygUgcmFscGh0aGVtb3ZpZW1ha2VyIGdob3N0IGtpdGNoZW4%3D
>>21967146Ha it's funny because it's true
hwhy do the hwhites get so butthurt hwhen other races are just eating their food?
>>21967285Because they want everyone to do business the way they do it. And then get buttmad when someone else figures out how to do capitalism better than they do.
>>21967315200 years ago i'd agree with you but now we have health codes and we've all seen how coloureds treat food prep
>>21967361sorry but i'm still not going to your overpriced $30 dollar hipster milliennial burger place
>>21967379Good, no one wants you browning up their nice civilized spaces.
>>21967379White people can cook for themselves.
>>21967382>civilized>zThe colonies have yet to be civilised.
>>21967427American website, colonist.
>>21967382>overpaying for an inferior product to own the libtardslol
>>21967435Most of the modern American experience involves overpaying for things just for the privilege of avoiding nonwhites, yes. The entire real estate market for instance.
>>21966824I'm confused, allowing for more freedom is supposed to be an American thing right? We fuck up in some areas but I'm perfectly fine on this one. If you don't trust a regular jack off to safely cook food, IDK what to tell you. Who do you think is cooking in most kitchens? You don't have to be servsafe certified to get a job as a cook anyway. I'd want to hear from people who've tried it before trying from just anyone but like, would desu
>>21966181Snus and cigarettes have to use this color for packaging in Norway and instead of ugly it looks all tacticool.
>>21967011>I'm Hispanic and grew up with family friends making "plates" for when they needed extra money, raising funds for some event,That's called a bake sale, and it has a time and a place. We're talking about a day-to-day thing.
>>21966254In the South, most holes in the wall are>soul food>Chinese >MexicanSoul food is incredibly easy to find in restaurants.
>>21966174Yes, its a very brown thing to do. People think they're making Michelin star food in styrofoam to-go containers and sell it above restaurant prices to other brown people. Pic related. Theres another thats been selling her last dubai chocolate bars. Or sourdough loaves of bread, random cakes. Mexicans ALWAYS sell tamales around holidays. I understand what some of them are trying to do, make a shitload of food then sell it for a decent profit or jumpstart their food truck or small business. The problem is when they think selling a potato for $15, or a tamale for $5, or a cake for $100 is going to fund their future, they're clearly never going to get very far.
>>21966174This is all black shit. I refuse to eat food prepared by shaniqua with poop crusted under her acrylic nails.
>>21966324So that makes it ok to just leave your trash everywhere because "sheeet, aint no dinin' area"? You can't act like this and then scream racism when nobody wants you monkeys around.
>>21967547Where are you seeing this? Any of the videos I’ve seen online show people leaving with the food, not camping out in apartment block parking lots lol I don’t even care that you’re racist, i have just never seen that behavior associated with the selling plates thing. If it’s happening in your neighborhood, call the cops or something. It just sounds like you’re mad at something you made up desu senpai
>>21967476Dumbass can't even figure out how to spell her own name
>>21966174>Has anyone paid for a “plate” from a strangers house? How was it?I wouldn't do this unless I actually knew the person doing the cooking and trusted their food. Having said that, I knew a few Hispanic families that would do it. I also live in a place that used to refuse to sell alcohol on Sundays and when I worked at a liquor store, one of those guys would come in and load up on alcohol. He'd then sell it to people on Sundays. Apparently, he made bank doing that for awhile.
>>21967444what a good little goy you are
>>21967476>People think they're making Michelin star food in styrofoam to-go containersNo one thinks that, you just made that up so you could cry about it incel.
>>21966174idk about buying them, from stranger's houses, but selling plates is extremely common at schools or fairs. The typical gist is you pay for a ticket, you give the food guy your ticket, and he gives you a plate with a bunch of food on it. Now the jewish part of this scam is that the price for the food you get is obviously horrible on top of the food being low quality, hence the slight mind-trick and obfuscation by turning your money into a ticket into food, instead of turning your money into food. It's kinda like how gacha games have you turn your money into sillygems which you have to turn into stamina to farm faggotcoins which then let you pull on gacha characters. They often justify the kikery by saying it's for "charity" or something like that, when the school just uses the money to buy more school supplies while pocketing what was supposed to be their already allocated school supply fund. Also it makes it slightly harder to get a refund since "hurr you already got ur plate! I can't just refund you a ticket!". All in all, plate-selling is just one massive grift, and that's at the institutional level. Anyone that's trying this shit from their home or whatever is just some greasy scamming nigger.
>>21967621That anon lives in a fantasy world where people have nothing better to do than hang around, find a ghost kitchen, and eat there.
>>21966225it all makes sense now
>>21967445Food health regulations were written in blood. I known this. Laws were made because butchers would use rancid meat in sausages. And bakers would use sawdust in bread. And even today. It's pretty common you hear about E Coli outbreaks at fastfood chains, Listeria outbreaks from deli meat manufacturers, Hep C outbreaks from imported frozen fruit. So, food poisoning is still very much a risk you should be careful about. Because it can fuck you up. But, saying all that. I do agree. It's dumb to not trust somebody's home cooking. It's probably fine. Especially if they have an OK reputation in the community.
>>21967834>food poisoningyeah i had it it lasted almost a week, imagine running outside in the middle of the night to puke and shit yourself at the same time
My small town FB has this. I have done it, and the food is crazy good with huge portions for $8 CAD. Usually comes with a dessert too or bread and butter. Insane value.Plus we got homemade perogies, cabbage rolls, borscht, pickled jars of various vegetables, eggs, chickens, sausages, pepperoni sticks all on the local FB group. Nobody is ripping anybody off. Fair price for goods. I do consider myself very lucky.
>>21967834Saar. Please no. We are clean Tim Horton and brew the coffee and make the donuts with smile, yes. Thank you, Saar.
>>21966224Or the service or atmosphere. What besides the food has anything to do with eating out?
>>21967011For the last ten years, yeah, a lot of the people on 4chan are racists unfortunately. Real ones.
>>21967840Outside?
>>21966174This was a thing for the elderly who couldn't feed themselves since forever People would buy 10 meals for grandma I had one once, it wasn't bad. Just a stew with beef and beans
>>21967062This is exactly what it is
>>21966234My boss at one of my previous jobs bought tamales from a lady like that. Apparently they freeze well. We also bought sweet potato pies from another guy to sell on our dessert menu.
>>21967476>Bree/Brii>$15 baked potatoesSounds like a white lady.
It's a ghetto tradition but it's fucking rad.In some places it's just like a ghost kitchen where you order take out from, and uber picks it up from some random persons house. But there's also an even grittier version where people will just cook at home and take the food out onto the street in Styrofoam containers. But these are people you actually know, who live down the road from you, it's more like a community thing then the kind of hawking you set in tourist areas. I do in fact sell plates, Monday lunch time to avoid drunks and crack heads. Menu is pretty much set. >plain riceBecause somehow people don't know how to cook rice, but it's also the most common side order. >gumboSome people order it as a main, but it's also a common side order>breadI just resell it. Easiest quarter you'll ever make. Mostly it's for the gumbo>chilli dogsI have the bread, half the chilli ingredients are the same as the gumbo, most common stand alone order>hot dogsSee above>chicken spicyTextured chicken Bologna fried Chinese style with Cajun spices. Usually goes out with bread, rice. Nothing about the food is special but there's nothing special about mcdonalds either. People order it because they can't even cut up an onion, can't make mac and Cheese, have no stove, are homeless, whatever. But you get a large rice, spicy chicken, four rolls, for $6 which is the same price as a single mcvalue meal. And people often just throw in whatever else they have in the house to make it a four person meal. Chilli dogs are $2.50, hot dogs are $2. Just because we're closer than anywhere that sells food. The other really cool thing about our places is that you can place the most fucked up order and because we don't use COGS you just get the food price on it. Extras are cheaper than the official menu items, the reverse of nickle and dime
>>21967886>My boss at one of my previous jobs bought tamales from a lady like thatIn some cities it's a really common thing. When I lived in Portland, OR, there was always a tamale lady coming around selling them out of a cooler she pulled behind her. Bought them many times and they were cheap and really good.
