So I have a craving for this, but I want to try a different take without any cooking or fresh veggies. I just came up with this. Tell me if it's retarded.

>boil the pasta
>remove water and put stuff in while pasta is still hot
>add sliced ham
>add cheese (hopefully it melts)
>diced canned mushrooms
>diced red olives
>mayo
>add a couple spoons of red vinegar
>add cooking cream (not sure this will work)
>dry onion, dry garlic, dry parsley, salt, pepper

Thoughts?
>>
Can't be that bad right?
>>
could use some jelly beans
>>
>>21967369
not sure what the point of the cream is, it will just make it wet. stick with mayo for creaminess.
>>
That dressing is gonna split if you put hot pasta directly into cold mayo, why do you want the cheese to melt?
>>
>>21967369
I’m unsure about the dried onion and garlic unless this will rest after preparing
>>
You’ve never cooked before and it shows
>>
>>21967511
Pasta will absorb it

>>21967518
It should be ok if introduced slowly. I like the cheese melted, perosnal preference.

>>21967842
Neither am I, but no fresh stuff is a must.

>>21967845
I do, but usually it's retarded stuff. I still eat it :)
>>
>>21967369
Quick question
In which country is a dish of pasta without any fresh veggies called a "salad"?
>>
>>21967855
>Pasta will absorb it
probably not no, unless you let it sit for awhile, which would defeat the whole point of making a warm pasta salad.
>no fresh stuff is a must.
why?
>>
>>21967861
This nigga thinks salad means veggies instead of "chopped ingredients mixed together with some kind of dressing (usually mayonnaise)". Are you American?
>>
>>21967898
>Are you American?
I know you are 1 since the second word out of your mouth is "nigga", and you think pasta mixed with cheese n ham is a salad. I also know you are fat.
>>
>>21967907
It is technically a salad just not a healthy one.
>>
>>21967861
>In which country is a dish of pasta without any fresh veggies called a "salad"?
any continental place where white people live
>>21967907
The second word is an accurate assessment. asians are not as retarded as you.
>>
>>21967932
>any continental place where white people live
Give an example
>The second word is an accurate assessment. asians are not as retarded as you.
An accurate assessment of the one who said it
>>
>>21967934
Not him but where do you think potato salad or chicken salad comes from? Hint: they weren't invented in the USA.
>>
>>21967935
Idk why you brought up 2 salads that have got nothing to to with this thread
>>
>>21967938
Pasta salad also wasn't invented in the USA. You're a big dumb dumb.
>>
>>21967939
I never mentioned usa until this guy >>21967898 brought it up. Are u ok?
>>
>>21967943
>Are you American?
>I know you are 1 since the second word out of your mouth is "nigga", and you think pasta mixed with cheese n ham is a salad. I also know you are fat.

That's your stupid post. You imply that only the USA would consider that a salad. You're wrong and dumb and gay. OP's salad is very unhealthy but it's still technically a salad. Learn what words mean dummy
>>
>>21967946
Theres no technically since you cant prove what a salad is or isnt technically. But only a fatty would consider whats in the op a salad. And we know usa is very fat.
Also whenever someonr thinks of pasts "salad" they think of america not anywhere else.
As for who invented it, idk but heres an opinion

>>
>>21967953
>dah joooz invented pasta salad
Concession accepted
>>
>>21967954
Go ahead n find historical writings about pasta salad not in american
>>
>>21967369
Personally not a fan of cream or mayo in pasta salad, despite enjoying some of the other mayo based salads like chicken or potato salad. Pasta salad should have a lighter oil/vinegar based dressing or something herbal like pesto.
>>
>>21967955
Why is that even an argument? Pasta salad is from Italy. No one gives a fuck if Italian Greeks and Jews invented it. You just want to move a goalpost. It's still a fucking salad. Learn. what. words. mean. There is an entire world out there and there are salads that aren't based on leafy greens.

Why is it an argument? You say
>Pasta salad is from Italy.
And i am literally asking for source. Because all the writigs about pasta salad were by americans. So if youre gonna say its actuslly italisn then go ahead n prove it.
Btw if your source is wikipedia then let me show you where their source is from
>It's still a fucking salad
You can cry as much as you want but only 1 country on earth consider it salad
>Learn. what. words. mean. There is an entire world out there and there are salads that aren't based on leafy greens.
I know what salad means. Pasta with ham cheese n 0 fresh ingredients is not it.
>>
>>21967962
All of the sources say that it's difficult to trace and all that you'll find on google is a reddit thread filled with Italians claiming that they eat it (the vinegar based version not the mayo based version) but they don't have a formal name for it. That still doesn't make it any less of a salad. Americans may have actually invented it and then it was imported from the USA to Italy. OP's recipe is shitty but you'll find many European salads that are mayo and meat based just like in the OP. This is a salad from the UK.
>>
>>21967973
Not a salad.
Go ahead, show this picture to everyone you know and ask them if its a salad.
>>
>>21967975
What makes you the authority on what is or isn't a salad? You can be angry about chicken salad but it's still going to exist and people will still call it a salad.
>>
>>21967978
Im not saying im the suthority. I was literally suggesting you ask other ppls opinion.
>>
>>21967982
You act like that I made this dishes up myself. Are you ESL?
>>
>>21967989
*made these dishes
Yes, the typo made my post funny, but it's a genuine question. English is my first language but I'm hungover. I didn't invent mayo based meat salads or pasta salads. They've been around for awhile.
>>
>>21967989
>You act like that I made this dishes up myself.
No clue where u got that idea. Msybe youre just too sensitive?
>Are you ESL?
Yes.
>>
>>21967992
Well, you're said no one would consider these examples as salads but they would. I don't exactly know where you're from but there are meat and egg based salads in NA and Europe. Most salads are vegetable based, though.
>>
>>21967991
I dont actually have a problem with pasta or meat in a salad. I just dont think a dish with 0 veg like thwt chicken thing u posted shd be called a salad.
It was all just a bit of fun anyway. I dont think anyone actually tskes this seriously

OP here, I'm actually doing it. A couple changes based on your criticism kek. I removed the onion powder and added dry tyme and parsley. Pic related is the sauce combined. Everything (including meat) except the cheese. It's surprisingly tasty. I'll add some of the pasta to it to warm it up, so it doesn't separate before dumping it all in. The cream goes pretty well.

Currently boiling the pasta - fusilli, rigatoni and even some leftover cannelloni.

I'll post an update when it's ready.
>>
>>21968067
It wouldn't have killed you to add some kind of veggie to it even if it's just for texture like some diced celery, cucumbers, and/or cherry tomatoes.
>>
>>21968072
I know, but the idea is to use what you have - dried and canned stuff. To answer >>21967865 as well.

This is the finished sloppa. Pasta + sauce with grated grana padano.
>>
>>21968098
This looks more like a weird warm, mayo pasta dish you tried to make instead of a salad.
>>
>>21968098
Tastes pretty good. Herbs and spices are doing the heavy lifting. I was worried about putting in too much red wine vinegar (3 tablespoons), but it's lost in the other stuff.

The only problem is AS AWLAYS I made too much pasta for the amount of creamy sauce.

>>21968100
True. Kinda veered of course, but I like the taste and the sauce didn't require cooking. I'm happy.
>>
I just use ranch instead of cream and mayo am I doing it wrong?
>>
>>21968166
Is there a wrong way to do pasta? I do all kinds of crazy shit with it. As long as you like the taste who can judge? Good job OP for trying out his weird ass idea kek.
>>
>>21967934
Nudelsalat in Germanic countries(canned peas, pickled cucumbers, maybe some canned corn). There's a bunch of mayonnaise salads in Slavic countries, they put mortadella kind of sausage in there, also canned peas, and whatever. White people are Nordic, naturally, we will have winter food salads. Also Potatosalad everywhere white people are.
