Whats the general consensus around here on brunch? Try not to seethe.
>>21967580It's for women and their homosexual friends
I don't really know what brunch is
>>21967582Sorry that was your experience. Have you tried not hanging out with women and their gay friends?
>>21967587Breakfast but closer to lunch? It’s like a brunch menu includes breakfast things and lunch things, but none of it is particularly special. It’s just the time of daySometimes it includes alcohol, which i find strange with egg dishes.
>>21967593I was a waiter so I didn't have a choice.
>>21967580It's utilization for restaurants. Easy way to get money out of leftovers. Throw in a mimosa or two and set out some smoked salmon next to the steam table of scrambled eggs and rake in the cash from hungover suburbanites and yuppies.
>>21967614Makes sense. I just been craving this shit lately it reminds me of mom making breakfast when I was a kid. I don't actually eat breakfast myself because I like to wake up 15 minutes before my shift.
>>21967612Sorry you had to go through that, I'd never be a waiter or fast food worker but I understand a lot of people do it out of desperation.
>>21967580needs 75x more salt and pepper
>>21967628Do you really think serving is a sentence for people? I did it six years at a steakhouse and loved it. I made GREAT money every night, ate well for free, and had a blast with my tables. If you're an outgoing, funny person and at all a foodie, people will enjoy you waiting on them. Sure, every now and then there's an asshole or a table of people who don't know how to dine or act, but it's quite rare in a nice place for grownups. I had a few $500 nights, but I could always count on at least $150 in tips. Usually over $200. And that was years ago. Now it'd be more, but so is the cost of living.
>>21967612Only women and gay men become waiters
>>21967816You're an idiot though, so anything you post is immediately dismissed as retarded.
>>21967810>I begged and got loads of money yay meSome of us have self respect
Gay. >>21967810When I was making money like that in a similar job, my parents laughed at me. If you think its worth talking about, youre poor.
>>21967884When has a waiter at a steakhouse ever begged you for anything? Have you ever even eaten out? >>21967888You're insecure because your parents were assholes. My parents were pretty supportive. They came in and left big tips when I was starting out. They never laughed at me in my life. How is making over $1K in tips a week "poor"? Also, I haven't done it in years.Sorry you're a retarded prick. Not sure how you feel threatened.
>>21967903>Whoa I did my job adequately give me free money
>>21967580Brunch is fine, but I will seethe until the day I die and my family are ok with it and you better be too.
If you're hungover does that count as brunch? Kimchi pancakes and soju slammers for me thanks
>>21967904You just seem to have an issue with the entire concept of tipping. lol, you hate me and are trolling me because you wish society didn't expect you to tip. Pretty funny.Good thing real customers don't agree. I was never once stiffed by a table. 100% tip achievement rate.
>>21967916If you can eat you are not truly hungover.
>>21967918That retardatrary thing to say
If it's like 10am then I'm just gonna wait for lunch. I wake up early even on weekends.
>>21967580Brunch is something normal people do with friends. So people here will hate it.
>>21968036 Hangover is staying in bed sick; unable to sleep but also unable to get out of bed. Nothing can make you feel better but time and lots of water. Maybe weed. Or pills. But it's hours before you can eat.
>>21967580I couldn't care less about consensus. I love brunch, and I live in one of the brunchiest areas on the planet (the West Village subneighborhood of Greenwich Village, in Manhattan). It's a nice thing to do on weekends, either by yourself or with friends. Anyone calling it "gay" or whatever has their own issues that have nothing to do with food. My problem is I have trouble not indulging when I order something like Eggs Benedict or a croque-madame, and then I'm sleepy.
As someone who only wakes up early because I have to for work I like brunch. I get to sleep in and have breakfast.
>>21968120>not indulging when I orderDo you mean eating it all? Finishing what you did in fact order? What a faggy way of putting it. hahaHipster faggot.
>>21968120>or a croque-madame
>>21968152Yes, often I'll eat half and box up the rest for home if I don't want to nap the afternoon away. You seem to have some internal issues, hope you get help or otherwise rise from the darkness.
>>21968152Look at this mongoloid who doesn't know what the word "indulge" means in the context of the sentence Sorry your mom huffed gasoline while you were in the womb, champ. Some people can understand them big words with all them letters n such>>21967580It's good if I decide that I don't want to do anything that day, so then I eat a ton and get really drunk then go home and sleep. Pretty comfy.
Brunch is fucking based and if any of you are depriving yourself of it because you might lose misanthropy points for enjoying it, I pity you
>>21967612I don't tip male waiters
>>21968163I know what it means. I'm the biggest wordsmith on the board. I just disapprove of its use there. I think it's quite faggy. Only a word enthusiast of the highest magnitude would even have such an opinion. Wouldn't you agree? Also I'd like someone to agree with my contention that the usage was gayer than a French horn.
>>21968168Sure you don't, tough guy. You sit there for 45 minutes being served and then you scurry out only having covered the bill.No one believes you.
>>21968168We get it, you're Jewish.
>>21968171>>21968172it's true and I'm no hooknose, I do it to discourage male waiters and force them to quit, if a cute girl isn't serving me what's the point of going out to eat?
just ignore him and he’ll go away or engage him until he spergs out and gets banned again
>>21968177You don't do it. Meaning you do do it. You tip men.
>>21968184men are gross why would I pay them?
>>21968169>Also I'd like someone to agree with my contention thathow insecure are you
>>21968187Because it's the social contract and you're a chickenshit who doesn't want to upset the apple cart. You could never set foot in an establishment again were you to pull such a stunt. In the end very few people have it in them to do that in public after someone brings you and your party everything for maybe an hour or more. So were you to do it, you'd do it alone and in some town you'll never return to. And even then I don't buy it.
>>21967580why 'chup only one of the hashbrown patties? the other one looks cold and nude...
Love me brun-brunz
>>21968169Kek you didn't even know fiance meant boy
>>21968177"Based," to use the parlance of our timesHotties only truly is thee waye
>>21967580Breakfast foods are a social construct
>>21967580>be hungry beforehand because you didn't eat, unless you snack, then do not have space for brunch>be hungry by 3 pm because you ate lunch too early, Not too big of a fan, I prefer brekkie at 7 and lunch at 12.
>>21968261Skill issue
>>21967810Yea shit was fun. I loved the social interaction aspect, always something new
>>21968169What a fag
>>21968268Case in point, I would be hungry by 3 pm if I ate that for brunch.
>>21968276That's my secet, Cap; I'm ALWAYS hungry!
It's time for brunch!
