Is it just the endless march of time that's made most foods I used to like taste bad to me or are things just worse now?>Had some instant noodles and the taste wasn't even worth the pile of salt.>Most sugary treats just taste excessive>Most drinks just taste like sugar water/syrup>Fried foods just taste like bread and oil>cheese just taste dense and gross, only like funky and feta cheeses now>fast food is like actual poisonI've reached a point where the foods I actually enjoy are extremely limited. Plain rice, toast, roasted meats without too many spices, veggies, salads with just lemon and salt.Tea, coffee, sparkling water for beverages (or just plain cold water). It's hard to enjoy anything convenient or while out bc everything is too sweet or greasy.
>>21967875that's just called growing up
Cinnamon toast crunch used to glisten and taste like sugary lab chemicals. It doesn't glisten anymore and the sweetness isn't nearly as exaggerated
>>21967875It's both, I still like a lot of things but a lot of stuff has been made worse to make sure the ceo can still get his 5th grand daughter her own personal gold plated yacht. And don't forget the shareholders, everything is about the shareholders in the end. Line must go up even if product must go down. Frozen totinos pizzas are a prime example. I've ranted so many times about how they were butchered, I don't feel like doing it again but you'll just have to take my word for it. They were a divine gift in my college days and now I wouldn't spit on one if it was offered to me and it's not because my tastebuds have changed.
>>21967875covid irreparably damaged some of your tastebuds. it's okay, it happened to 99% of the world population. food will slowly be adjusted to become saltier and sweeter because of this. we are entering a new era of superslop.
>>21967889I never got Covid, anon
>>21967948haha. sure.
>>21967875Everything is slowly being slopified. You have to make it from scratch, check the ingredients, put in effort or buy premium brands to get the common quality of food a decade ago.
>>21967889I didn't expect OP to mention the cheese thing because it's usually just about processed food. But even years before covid I found myself not wanting to eat cheese as much anymore but still enjoying feta and ricotta. I still enjoy fruit, vegetables, etc. so it's not like I can't taste anything.
>>21967875I used to eat top ramen but they changed their recipe and now it makes me nauseous. My preferred salt block is now indomie
>>21967875your body undergoes multiple major metabolic changes, you're just getting old and your palate is maturing.
>>21967875most of the products you grew up eating have done a complete 180 in their manufacturing processes and ingredient lists. it’s only partially you growing up and developing taste buds.
