How the fuck do Asians eat mountains of this shit and not get the beetus?
>>21967970cars are a luxury item
>>21967970I'm American and I eat a mountain of this every day.
>>21967970they are getting the beetus as we speak
>>21967970They don't eat a fuckton of fat and sugar with it. Fish and steamed veggies and such. And walking and riding bikes. And not eating five large meals a day. It's culture and restraint as much as the food itself. You can eat mountains of rice and grains and corn and all that and lose weight. You just have to give up meat and fat and sugar. Always a trade off.
>>21967970because they have a more active life style than amerilards
>>21967970Asia is more than just Japan and Korea. A lot of SEA and third world countries have sky high rates of diabetes.Every other street in Indonesia has a billboard offering medical assistance for diabetics.
>>21967985Humans are only human. Hard to resist what America came up with. More more more. And that golden ratio of salt/sugar/fat. Any corporation interested in profits (all of them) was going to take full advantage and get people addicted to food that's cheap to make.We are in the end times for everything. Maybe not in my lifetime, but in the next hundred years everything is gonna crash and burn. We can't sustain ourselves. But I'm guessing shit will get real different in just the next five years due to A.I. changing the workforce. Most of the people who post here are already uninvolved in all of that so they are less likely to believe it's going to be a big deal. But get ready for EVEN MORE bored, angry people joining the online forums looking for answers.Shit's gonna get real weird soon. Then again, we always seem on the brink of some kind of international shit. No one even takes it seriously anymore. My local news anchors were almost laughing as they announced "the end of a civilization" threat yesterday. That really struck me as a sign of the times. I could sure go for a huge, steaming bowl of white rice right now. With terijaki sauce and sriracha and kimchi on it. I could be a vegan if I ate that every day. Rice is so good. And I might like rice noodles better than wheat.
>>21967997>Humans are only human. Hard to resist what America came up with. More more more. So are you saying Americans invented diabetes? I don't think we're forcing Asian diabetics to Rambo rice and curry down their throat.
>>21967997Didn't eat lol
>>21967970I just used my instantpot to make basmati rice and it was so good. Was great with some pan cooked mussels. But back to your post. Rice is a fulfilling side dish that they pair with fish and vegetables. Even if they eat bowls of the stuff every day it wouldn't cause them to get fat thanks to all the walking they do.>>21967980Fuck corn. Trash food.
>>21967970Asians seem to have genetics to better process starchy food plus often having a culture that heavily discourages overeating. Despite that, Japan still has a higher than expected rate of diabetes and there are various things causing them to develop symptoms of obesity at lower BMIs. >>21967997>We are in the end times for everything.People have been saying this for thousands of years.
>>21967970>>21968020Talk to any doctor, they'll tell you Asians are more likely to get diabetes than other races. This guy has it right>>21967985.
>>21968026Yeah I said that too. I wonder how much it would help if they were eating brown rice instead.
>>21967999No. You're deliberately misreading I think.American scientists invented that ratio to make MREs more palatable to American soldiers. Later those guys started working for fast food corporations. It obviously contributed to the west's obesity crisis and it went international because of those corporations seeking profits elsewhere. Keep opening up KFC/Pizza Hut locations wherever they can. No one is forcing Asians to eat it any more than they're forcing Americans to eat it. It's simply very hard for many, many people to resist. Just look at the constant fast food threads here.
I feel like I've seen this post before. Why would a whole grain cause diabetes and not processed sugar? Like, how have you come to the conclusion that eating rice is a cause of diabetes lolSeems retarded
>>21968034>a whole grainMost Asians are eating white rice, not whole grains. Starch can actually spike your blood sugar more than sugar. White rice has a higher GI rating than white sugar.>Like, how have you come to the conclusion that eating rice is a cause of diabetes lolJapan is healthier than the USA by most metrics but they still have similar rates of diabetes.
>>21968032You're operating under the assumption that second and third world Asian nations have the same fast food culture that we do here in the USA. I highly doubt that's true. Our fast food culture is mostly just shared among other Anglo nations like Australian, Canada, and the UK. Just because they have a mcdonalds in their country doesn't mean that they're eating there all of the time.
There are a lot of fat Chinese people actually.
>>21967970They absolutely do. Many ppl in my family both young and old fat and thin have the betus.>asian
>>21967970they do. their diabetes rates are extremely high which is even worse than it sounds because rice countries are some of the least obese countries out there so it's not even fatty diabetes. rice ain't good for you.
>>21967970Mixing with vegetables slows the spike or sumn
>>21967970They walk and bike everywhere. And are constantly moving around. And they supplement it with super healthy shit. It's not rocket science, just zoom out your perspective a bit and don't JUST look at diet. It's the entire lifestyle.
>>21967970because it's not soda.soda causes the beetus.
>>2196805612% of Americans have diabetes8-10% of Japan has diabetes
>>21968048You're ignorant of the facts here. Just look up the locations of restaurants owned by the major fast food corporations. Look at the widespread availability of Coke and Pepsi the world over. I'm not arguing anything other than the fact that the world getting fatter is contributed to by America's influence where the fattening is happening. I didn't posit that diabetes is all over those nations, only that if it is it's probably tied to lots of cheap sugar and fat flooding there. And that started here. France has always had rich foods without having obesity until recently. It's the processing, the preservatives, the chemicals, the weird fats, the engineered sugars, the portions, the 'Party Size'. It's the sedentary tendencies and the spread of the internet too. In summation, my contention is that all advancements for better or worse in food and laziness stem from the USA; the land from which I hail.
Because we're not having 37 KitKats and 42 litres of Kookie Cola with it unless we're Malaysian. >>21967985>IndonesiaBro, Malaysia has it worse, about double the rate of Indonesia. And it's because Malaysia has adopted American style eating habits. Go back to native diets and you'll be fine.>>21967997>vegan>kimchilolMy homemade kimchi is vegan but most kimchi is not, especially not commercially made stuff.
>>21967980>They don't eat a fuckton of fat and sugar with it.their kids do
It depends on the rice they eat.Pic related here in Italy is called "Selenio" rice which is a sushi rice variety cultivated here and it has a low glycemic index, it's possibly the white rice with the lowest GI you can find, unlike the other risotto rice varieties such as carnaroli, vialone nano and so on which are very high in GI.Basmati rice and the other long grain varieties, are medium in GI, however Basmati rice is pure trash filled with pajeet chemicals and poison so you should eat local varieties, I like here in Italy Iarim and Apollo. The secret to eat white rice while keeping GI as low as possibile is:1) keep it al dente, with some bite, not completely cooked2) refrigerate it overnight to convert the sugar into resistant starchOr, if you don't want the hassle, just eat brown rice.
>>21968183>eat stale undercooked rice it's good for you
>>21968148I've never been to south east Asia so this is just second hand shit my friend told me, but he told me that they have way more of a street food culture there than in the USA. Fast, cheap food for them is a random stall within walking distance where they can pick up a generous amount of 1 - 2 dollar curry or some shit. Mcdonalds is expensive by comparison and something people eat occasionally compared to a local stall. Maybe other Asian anons ITT can weigh in. He said that the food stalls there are so cheap and the food so high quality/fresh compared to food in the US, that he knew a few people that barely even kept food in the house. They just dined at the street stalls when they were hungry.
>>21967970>not get the beetusAlmost all food related chronic diseases 99% dependent on genetics. How do people not realize this yet...
>>21967997Imagine writing a /pol/-tier doomsday essay at the mere mention of rice. Holy shit
>>21968026That’s mainly south asians not East Asians. South Asians tend to have fucked insulin resistance, the famines they suffered through left an impact and they love sweets maybe even more than Americans
>>21968191Then they aren't getting fat. If they are it's because the ingredients they use are filled with chemical and extra fat/sugar. Or they're eating more or exercising less. It doesn't have to be fast food. Just soda and everything having sugar hidden in everything, the sizes of snacks and drinks... all that started in the USA. If these people are eating on the streets and not blimping out that's great. I wish we could go back to that. But unfortunately it's in the behavior and in anything that doesn't qualify as a 'whole food'. It takes either being raised by parents who actively fight against all that or an extreme rehaul and unlearning years of bad habits. For me it was the latter. My folks didn't know any better. And they were smart and we had money. Only hippies seemed to raise their kids responsibly. We all grew up eating lunches with Capri Sun and Doritos and chocolate covered granola bars. And then we hit 30 and gain weight. Then hopefully we wise up and learn proper nutrition and lose the weight. Better late than never. Though I feel for the kids whose parents serve them liver and oat milkshakes and raw milk and shit because they fell down some fucked up rabbitholes online. And those poor kids definitely don't have any of their shots. Hope they don't scratch their arm on a nail or something. lol
>>21968190I said al dente, you nigger. Instead of cooking it for 12 minutes like the box says, use less water and cook it for 8 minutes + 2 off the heat so the steam finishes cooking the grains.
>>21968191Eh, your friend is that special mix of technically correct but still wrong. $1-2 for a bowl of food is cheap to a foreigner but for someone from Malaysia, that's not that cheap. Average income is roughly $2200 annually. To put it into perspective, a $10 fast food meal in America is 0.0152741713762% of the average American's annual income. A $2 hawker meal in Malaysia is 8× that to the average Malaysian. At that rate, if an average Malaysian ate out for every meal every day, that would use up every last ringgit in his wallet over the course of a year. An American could spend $10 for every meal every day and still have ~$50k of his annual income leftover. That said, in Ipoh, a hawker meal might be just $1 rather than the $2-$4 you'd pay in JB or KL. As everywhere else, prices are regional.
>>21967976>>21967977>>21967980>>21967981based
>>21968183>>21968216that's funny, because at the same time you've got people telling you to boil your rice like pasta, in way more water then you need, and then to discard the water to remove the arsenic content of the rice. which otherwise you would consume if you used just the necessary amount of water.just goes to show it's pointless to listen to confident faggots on the internet, they don't know shit
>>21967970Asians gets diabetes, but rice is not the sole sourceSugar and sedentary lifestyle also a major factorJust check Malaysia diabetes rate
>>21968216>I said al dente, you nigger.>so the steam finishes cooking the grains.>>21968183>not completely cookedaka undercookedyou didn't say anything about finishing cooking, you just said eat rice that wasn't fully cooked. eat shit(ty rice)
>>21968034Americans need an excuse for why shoving burgers down their overwieght throats is good actually.
>>21968034Diabetes isn't a pathogen you catch from sugar. It's your fatfuck body developing a resistance to insulin because you kept shoving food into your fatfuck face 24/7 keeping your body chronically flooded with insulin. Why don't Japanese get diabetes from eating rice? You ever seen a fatfuck Japanese person that shoves food into their fatfuck face 24/7? They're incredibly rare.
>>21968321Japan and the US have comparable rates of diabetes prevalence, 10 and 11% of the population, respectively. What I don't know is how much is type 1 and how much is type 2.
>>21968338Type 1 is vanishingly rare, 0.12% of the total population. It makes practically zero difference to diabetes figures.
>>21967980>fish and steamed veggies>you just have to give up meat>asians fucking love pork for some reasonAnon...?
Here is a nice chart with diabete prevalence by country. I would like to know what the fuck is going on in Pakistan.
>>21968642Partially genetics, partially gestational diabetes caused by maternal malnutrition, and partially the modern diet in urban pakistan is heavy in refined carbs, sugary drinks, and saturated fats. Many urban pakistanis are also very sedentary as well.
>>21968346What asians and pork? You started quoting me then added in your own bullshit.I said YOU can eat mountains of rice if you give up the other. Fucking retard.
>>21967976>>21967980>>21967981>not having a car is le goodpoorfag libs enjoy walking and bike riding and your walkable cities
>>21969095"le" good?What are you doing?
>>21967970They do get the beetus, by the shovelful.
>>21967970>>21967970>>21967970>>21969537You get it from being fat; not from eating a lot of carbs. As long as you calorie count, high carb diet is fine.
