You don't generally used much balsamic vinegar at a time. Its such a strong flavor you have to use less. $14 for a bottle will last quite a while unless you just love mediteranean foods.

Also, $14 isn't the fancy stuff. The fancy stuff is closer to $60 a bottle and can go up to $1000 for even smaller bottles. Again, you end up using a tiny amount.

i bought the 30 year old aged one, it was about 60-70 eur iirc.
it was a fun little thing, it's more like some kind of tangy fruit syrup than vinegar. in the end i tried it with parmesan, tried it with carpaccio and gabagool, tried it with vanila ice cream and the ice cream pairing was my favorite.
it's definitely worth it to try it once, because it's quite interesting and complex and a remarkable amount of work and craftsmanship went into it turning vinegar into this.
but is it worth buying repeatedly and always having it stocked? that's up to you and your level of income. it won't break the bank and it'll last 2-3 months so it's like 20-30 dollars extra expenses per month. as long as you don't feel stupid spending that money on a condiment.

This is balsamic condiment, not traditional balsamic vinegar. You got the high end of the low end.

Nah famalam. Least not in america

Yeh but there is also a lot of overpriced trash. Look for 4 leaf balsamic using the official Italian leaf grading system.
