My affection for strawberries is quite without limit, and I hold gariguettes in especially high esteem. I have composed a fraisier for the occasion.

Tell me, which sorts of strawberry do you find most pleasing, and how do you most enjoy putting them to use?

>Buy strawberries because they look yummy
>Get home excited to try them
>Wash them while literally drooling
>Set myself down on the sofa with a plate full of 'em
>Finally bite into one
>Tastes like nothing
>Feels like I'm biting into a warm and soft ice cube
>A grainy one at that
>iamdissapoint.jpg
>The rest are all the same
>Swear off strawberries
>Next year arrives and I spot some more strawberries being sold
>Repeat
They must be a psyop by BigStrawberry. Strawberries are the niggers of fruit. Kino as a flavouring though.

Get them in season (June, really).
Most strawberries today are grown on water, they're useless and a waste of time and money. You really need them soil grown from a farmer or someone who supplies them from such a farmer without going bad.

Strawberry coulis ofc. Equal parts strawberry, water and Muscat de Rivesaltes. Add 10% powder sugar, blend and sieve. Goes great with any dessert.
>>
strawberries, much like cake - god tier peak, but a lot of pretenders that are not worth your time
>>
>>21968417
90% of the time strawberries are more sour than sweet. A very disappointing fruit only good in smoothies and pies.
>>

>Persian style white pita
>diced up strawberries
>mashed banana
>peanut butter
>cup or coffee
literal aphrodisiac heaven. I'm getting hard thinking about it
>>

That usually means the strawberries were picked before they fully ripened.
>>

Shitty strawberries can be salvaged with a bit of sugar and/or cream.

I love them too, and coumarin doesn't effect me negatively either (the poison compound in strawberries). I enjoy wild strawberries the best, because they are the sweetest and most appealing, even if they are smaller in size.

The fraisier is composed of a crème mousseline, two layers of pain de gêne delicately soaked in syrup, and a strawberry coulis enriched with diced pieces of the fruit itself.
Upon my next attempt, I shall see to it that the pain de gêne is rendered in finer, more graceful slices, thereby allowing a more ample proportion of crème mousseline.
Here is the cross‑section, unveiled with due ceremony for the pleasure of your refined observation.
It is quite exquisite, if I may be permitted the modest observation.

May I enquire which variety you selected? You would be well served, I think, by procuring fruit of a more distinguished calibre next time.

>>21968446
A choice of exceptional judiciousness, reflecting impeccable taste.

>>21968466
Your assessment is, as ever, most astutely made.

>>21968468
I must ask again, which variety was it? You might give thought to acquiring fruit of higher distinction on your next occasion. Should they have tasted sour, the fault lies more with the procurement than with the strawberry’s nature.

>>21968489
A selection of most distinguished merit, whose anticipated flavours sound nothing short of delectable.

>>21968557
True enough, though one is always better served by commencing with strawberries of a superior calibre.

>>21968635
If I cultivate wild strawberries myself, may they still be deemed wild? In any case, an excellent choice. And should coumarin pose no difficulty for you, you would assuredly take great pleasure in tonka bean, it is quite delightful.

Was going to comment about growing strawberries in hanging baskets because of snails and slugs and came across this video:

Strawberries are closely related to roses! Very interesting.

I got some Alexandria strawberry seeds which I havent had success growing yet: an alpine strawberry native to Scandinavian forests which are small but supposedly of exceptional flavor and intense sweetness.

i always forget that most people just dont know how to pick fruit
>>
>>21968682
mmm, yes, quite.

It seems difficult to balance the acidity of fruit, not just strawberries, with the sweetness of cream.
Fruit cakes and fruit tarts often end up with a disjointed texture.
>>

>Get them in season
I can't. I live in a shithole that has to import them. We import oranges too and although they aren't as good as the local oranges, they are absolutely acceptable. Don't know what's up with the strawberries.
>>21968557
Adding sugar to a fruit that is ostensibly sweet is like adding water to a watermelon; it shouldn't be so.
>>21968685
>May I enquire which variety you selected?
The, uh, red kind. I don't know much about varieties.
>>21968812
Considering that imported fruit is supposed to be the cream of the crop from the exporting party, I don't know what more I can ask for.

Based on the way you write, I think you ARE Frasier
>>
>>21968880
>imported fruit is supposed to be the cream of the crop
it is all meets or exceeds certain standards but sweetness can vary between even 2 berries from the same plant, 2 melons from the same vine, etc.

why are you all talking like faggots

>Was going to comment about growing strawberries in hanging baskets
Have you tried this before? I’m close to swearing off growing strawberries because the really flavorful ones seems to really attract pests when I’ve grown them in pots or a raised bed

Not yet, just herbs and bush beans; should be easy though.
But using side-planting ports for maximum space efficiency.

Too bad you have no affection for proper English.

>>
>>21968880
Here lies the essential point of departure. Varietals are by no means equal in virtue. One must first choose a varietal of true distinction, and then ensure that its fruit is fully ripened. For even the most esteemed varietal cannot bestow excellence upon fruit taken in undue haste.

>>21968890
I must beg your pardon, but I am unfamiliar with the individual you call Frasier.

>>21969528
The irony materialises with such majestic force that it all but strides into the room and announces itself by name.

>>21969665
A performance of unmistakable excellence and izzat, sir.

The gariguette sorbet is truly exceptional, resting lightly upon the very plants that share its lineage, as if hinting at the future awaiting those still growing, for they too shall one day meet their delicious transformation.
