What kind of pasta is it? Different pasta shapes hold the sauce differently. Something more meaty would be better with a larger tube like rigatoni. Something sticky like alfredo fits noodles like spaghetti and fettuchini better. Match the pasta to the sauce. Penne is the most veratile common shape.

Just to check, the Alfredo sauce here is the American interpretation of it, which is with cream, but the original is just butter and parmesan?
