Something sticky like alfredo fits noodles like spaghetti and fettuchini better. Match the pasta to the sauce. Penne is the most veratile common shape.

Depends what you’re adding to it. I bought a sun dried tomato pesto to have with my pasta but I’m going to turn it into a pasta salad with chicken, chorizo, feta, capsicums, red onion and possibly some spinach.
