What is /ck/'s opinion on menu hacks?
>>
>>21974787
gay and based
>>
I miss the time when I could make a McGangbang for $3
>>
I don't believe in it. If they wanted me to order something they'd put it on the menu.
>>
>>21974797
It really was the best. Would snag one on the way to my shitty college liquor store job twice a week.
>>
In 2015 you could get 1 cheeseburger for 1 usd. 4 for 4.
Now 1 double cheeseburger costs 5 bucks

This happened during Covid. DoorDash and other food deliveries added increased prices to menus. Then restaurant matched that price. Then the food deliveries increased their price again. Then restaurants matched again! People were paying that price so they sold it for that price. They say it’s inflation. That’s only partly true. It’s all greed. They still report green quarterly earnings.

I don't like the word "hacks" for things like that. Also, chicken and beef do not go in the same bite. Just disgusting and pointless.

I'd never eat anything from that shithole anyway, but if forced I wouldn't be combining them.
>>
What is the benefit of taking a beef and chicken sandwich and eating them at the same time instead of separate?
>>

i dont know, i'm not 400lbs

If you eat fast food often enough that you feel the need to "hack the menu", you should just hurry up and kill yourself.

Often the reason this happens is because franchises are trying to avoid paying up to the corporate.

Anything they can pretend was waste, then sell special order. Or anything corporate is eating a loss on, they'll repackage.

So for example corporate tells us to sell this new cheese sauce, an industrial waste product, they give us a plastic sign and say we've got to sell it for 50c. We're promoting the product, corporate gets all the money, we lose money selling it. Typical franchise arrangement.

So we just write 90% of the sauce off as damaged, out of date, whatever, and charge customers a dollar more for cheese sauce on every menu item imaginable, and we just pocket that dollar.

If we make $2 on a $5 burger as a franchise, the one dollar from stealing corporates cheese sauce is a 30% revenue increase. Corporate aren't stupid but they are paid to promote the sauce, they don't expect to sell any. Often we just boxes of junk products for our staff to guinnea pig. Same deal.

And the other time this happens is where staff work out the food costs of items don't match, so put items through the register wrong to pocket money. Put through two small fries, give the customer a large fries, pocket the dollar. When it's every sale, this adds up fast. A lot of corporate packaging is designed specifically to deter this. Mcdonslds will tell you exactly what's in your big Mac, with pictures, so we don't make inbred big macs with the quarter pounder buns or whatever and pocket the dollar from every sale putting them through as chesburgers.

You can kind of still make it here in australia with a mcsmart meal. For the equivalent of a little under 5 usd you get a chicken and cheese, single cheeseburger, small fries and a drink. Bang it all together, chips included, and you get yourself something incredible.
When you adjust for inflation the value is very comparable.

I know a guy who worked at a theatre who would promote popcorn mixed with this sweet popcorn stuff. They were meant to be two seperate orders.

Actually he was just putting in fake orders for large popcorn, old regular, one sweet, then charging customers more for small, mixed off menu serves. And he did that for years, thousands of orders, because his boss paid him a pathetic salary and he needed to get through college somehow.

Barmen serve off menu cocktails for the same reason, to overcharge for off menu orders they can put through the register as fake orders. Large whiskey, pint of beer through the register, charge customers for two boilermakers, pocket the difference.

And often the businesses have to actually add the fucked up order as a menu item to stop staff overcharging customers for these mixed, fake ass register sales or selling customers out of date chicken or whatever by adding it to an off menu order. And maybe you just don't care if it was last night's chicken but fair warning, that's why it happens.

The BK here used to charge $0.50 extra to add lettuce and tomato to burgers that didn't come with it. For some reason, the cash register didn't add the extra charge for produce on the Bullseye BBQ Burger, which was good because lettuce and tomato worked really good on it.

Quite literally never worth it. The only people who enjoy them are the same manchiildren who still mix all the drinks at the soda fountain.
>>
>>21974925
what part of "beefy 5-layer" makes you think it's not taco bell?
