>>21976234Do you know there's "grass-fed beef" and "grass-finished beef"?And the definitions aren't always clear-cut if you look around a few websites.
Some even specify "grass fed and finished" to try to make it clear when a cow's been fed grass and only grass.

>>21976234All beef is grass fed, or so I thought but it's the default here. It surprises me that Americans don't have it as the default as they have plenty of farmland (but I suppose the "ranching" areas have lower quality grass or it's not viable for large production)
>>21977276The problem is fattening up the cows, and cost of land. Why buy more land to pasture them if you can keep them in a facility and stuff them with corn?
>>21976617Grass fed only is disgusting most of the time because you never really know what the cow was grazing on, unless it’s a small and local ranch. Finishing really helps the flavor. I remember when HEB in Texas was getting grass fed from Australia. What a fucking disaster. Oily, smelly, chemical smell meat after cooking. Enough complaints and they stopped. Now, Swift brand is getting the exact same meat in.
