I bought a chest freezer in anticipation of the Biannual Meat Sale. What are you getting at the meat sale?
Some deals are better than others.
>>21976602>>21976598Jesus, those are some shit prices. Only the shrimp is cheaper than what I would normally pay.
>>21976619Well lucky you then.
>>21976598>sale makes everything normal priceswhy does this keep happening
>>21976598What terrible fucking prices 1.79/lb for whole chicken? LMAOThese are prices I see when shits not on sale. Even what I see is cheaper than these "sale" prices.
>>21976619>>21976753Judging from a lot of these being sold in bulk packs, it's even worse than you'd expect. Like who the fuck is going to buy 10lb of ground beef at $6/lb? They're basically selling wholesale quantities at local grocery prices.
>>21976598>What are you getting at the meat sale?meat, probably
>>21976760Absolutely, it's especially egregious when considering the bulk sizes, which generally warrant a steeper discount. None of it is even prime meat either, and only a couple are choice.Embarrassing!
I'm gonna be honest. I don't really buy meat anymore. I still eat milk and eggs but at this point meat is just an enormous waste of money and I can cook thousands of delicious meals without it.
>>21976760I haven't bought ground beef in years now. We get chuck (or brisket) on sale (sometimes for maybe $2/lb or less if it's dated that day or the next) and I grind it and freeze it myself. Better meat and lower price, win-win.
>>21976990I personally like a mixture of chuck and brisket. Sometimes I'll grind some bacon into the mix as well if they're not too fatty. Makes for great burgers
>>21976753>>21976760>>21976964You don’t live here so you are ignorant of the prices. Why would I post this if it were not a great deal? You can’t back up your bullshit contention that food is cheaper where you live anyway, and if you can it’s because you live in the Midwest or somewhere without an ocean view or not even in America.Trust me, these are beyond good prices WHERE I LIVE. Fucking morons.
>>21977011I live on the coast, better than where you live I'm absolutely sure, and I find way better prices and quality.I'd say don't pop a blood vessel but your cholesterol is probably fine since you can't afford meat lmao
>>21977017No you don’t, you lying incel troll. How could it be both cheaper AND better? I can’t afford meat? I bought a $500 freezer to store the six sub-primals I’m going to get for about $600 total. I know you’re eager to feel superior to anyone you can, but I’m not an easy target. You might want to find another thread where you’re the brightest bulb. Maybe try /b/. :)
>>21977018Yes, cheaper AND better. I'm sure a lot of these are hard to believe when you're so far up your own ass, but there exists a better life out there that you, quite frankly, are just too dumb to grab. Also, in terms of being an easy target? You do the work for me, couldn't be any easier than that. Enjoy feeling superior about paying more for less, just like the jew cattle you are.
>>21977018Not that guy but I also live in a major city in the coastal Northeast (as in I'm a 20 minute walk to the water). And those prices are just… normal. I pay the same or less and I don't have to buy 10lbs at a time to do it. For example, I saw that one store has whole chicken 99¢ this week starting tomorrow. Ground beef is routinely $2.99/lb. Pork loin is $1.99-$2.49/lb, as are baby back ribs. Spare ribs are $1.49-$1.99/lb.Drumsticks and thighs were on sale last week 89¢/lb but I forget where. ShopRite? Giant? Somewhere. I literally just bought a whole prime rib for $6.99/lb two weeks ago from Giant. Outside of meat, I was at Acme the other day and saw 8lb sacks of russets for $2.99. And you don't live up here because your circular advertises Best Foods rather than Hellman's. You live in the middle of nowhere. The only things you've got better prices on are soda (which you undoubtedly call "pop"), tortillas (cuz there aren't many Mexicans up here) and shrimp (somehow). You even overpaid for your freezer. I bought ours for $179 lmao
>>21977044Then you’ll have no trouble providing some evidence. Show us a flyer from this magical land, on the coast, “better” than here (you’re absolutely sure), where the prices are lower yet the quality is higher. And that was the last we heard from the bullshitting incel troll. Haha>>21977046I live in the Pacific Northwest where these are the best prices. I already admitted that many of the prices are not good deals. The prices for whole tri-tip, ribeye, and NY strip are not lower anywhere within 200 miles.Good for you if you actually are able to do better (you haven’t actually posted real prices as I have). There are simply no insults which apply to me.For someone who lives HERE WHERE I LIVE this is as good as it fucking gets. End of story. You’re quite ignorant of the goings on outside of your immediate vicinity. There’s no “pop” here.
Grocery store in town wants $19.99/lb for ribeye right now. You want Choice it’s $24. So I’m getting half off. Can’t wait to read about where you can consistently buy this beef for five or six bucks a pound and it’s even better. What a magical place it must be.
>>21977057>I live in the utterly irrelevant armpit of Canada (but we're American! I swear!)lolThat's the first time I insulted you. As said, I'm not the other guy. He insulted you. I insinuated you [live in the middle of nowhere, and it turns out I was right]. >You’re quite ignorant of the goings on outside of your immediate vicinityMadam, I'm not even originally from this continent and I've lived in multiple states already and visited several, several more, possibly including yours (unless you live in Oregon). The prices I quoted are pretty common to NY, NJ, CT, PA and DE. NYC tends to be 50¢ more per pound than those figures I quoted. If you really want, I can try to get some screencaps of prices here but 4chan has been an annoyingly slow cunt the past few days so it might take a while
>>21976706everywhere but aldi and walmart have horrendous prices on everything but their loss leader
>>21977061man non-choice beef has been fucking terrible in my experience. The people that won't pay for a USDA rating are selling old animals.
>>21976975Give examples please
>>21977719Walmart has awful meat prices and rarely sales on beef. I get everything but meat and produce there.>>21977724Select is fine. Most restaurants serve it. I’d rather eat good beef daily than amazing beef less frequently.
I'm a butcher and I fucking hate sales. I cut pork chops all goddamn day and then some boomer gives me a huge fucking lecture about how I ripped him off because he bought center chops for 2.99/lb instead of rib and sirloin chops for 1.99/lb. There's signage everywhere and every pack of chops is labelled with the price but this shithead is fucking insisting we're moving the signs around to trick him.
>>21977777>t. filthy sign-mover.
>>21976598Beef tenderloin at 12.99/lb is pretty damn good. I would verify it's USDA Choice or higher, not some trash GI stuff then buy 2 of those. Then I grab 1 of the cryovac'd boneless strip and 1 boneless ribeye and portion them out myself at home. I would never buy ground beef higher than 2.99/lb. All the other are pretty standard prices, on sale or regular. The shrimp is decent deal too, but I would verify the COOL first. 30 dollars for 10 lbs of chicken is a huge rip-off.Source: I am a butcher.
>>21977760>rarely sales on beefRarely sales on /anything/ because their who schtick is "everyday low prices". Their regular prices are better than regular prices at most other stores but sales blow Walmart out of the fucking water. They're only good for things that rarely-to-never go on sale.
>>21977760yeah I should have stipulated that select is just a small step from choice; the big thing is that if it's only labelled as "USDA inspected" the quality drop is going to be massive. Even "select" still has to be an animal that's very young, like two and a half years. But I just hardly ever see "select" at all in a supermarket.
>>21977777Nice quints. Boomers are the worst, black people second worst. Boomers by quantity, blacks by "quality". Somehow every single boomer who comes in used to be a butcher and he spouts incorrect information at me. Then you have the people who come in EVERYDAY, and try to buy expiring meat for 30-50 percent off, they try to trick anyone in the meat department by lying about sale dates. They will literally scour the entire section looking for an expiring tomorrow date that we missed. It genuinely makes me sick the people who come in EVERY, SINGLE, DAY of their wretched fucking lives. Don't get me started on the people who come in EVERY DAY and then try to get friendly with the staff. I genuinely would run you over if I think I could get away with it. Also, black people really fucking love crab legs. Some of them also really get off on being waited on at the meat counter by a white guy. It's obvious, how they will order you around. Some of them are very nice, though. I'm glad I'm not forced to be meat counter guy half the day anymore, and I can just throw in my wireless headphone, jam and cut meat all day.
>>21977789We can order Select meat but we never do because the store is in a generally middle upper class area. I know some of the ghetto stores sell Select meat.
>be me, butcher>cut an end piece off a cut of meat>it looks fucking awful, no one would ever buy it>flip it over>put out for saleget fucked customertards
>>21977777checked and based wage rage.
>>21976598That's a sale? Literally the only thing on there at a good price is the beef tenderloin.
>>21977061Where do you live where ribeye is that expensive? My state has the most expensive groceries and i pay less for ribeyes
>>21976598>ground beef 6 dollars a pound on a super saleIt's unironically fucking over for good.
>>21976598Why is pork loin so cheap? Where I am it costs more than chicken breast.
I'm so tired.
>>21977018>just now bought a freezer>talking toughl o lmao
>>21978380So am I.
>>21978400>limit 1
>>21978476Do you not know what a value pack is? It's usually over five pounds. Often under but you can just look at the label.
>>21978400>The limited time, limited quantity, probably sold the fuck out in store sale price is the same as the regular price was a few years ago!!Yeah I'm tired too.
>>21978496>The limited timelolA different store will have the same price tomorrow and another one the week after then it'll come back to this one all over again. Sales are cyclical. Always have been. >limited quantityWhat is raincheck>probably sold the fuck outI was actually at that store this morning because we needed milk. They had plenty of ground beef.>in store sale priceWhat is delivery? >is the same as the regular price was a few years ago!!And not the $8.50 pricetag quoted in >>21978380 nor the $5.99/lb one in the OP.>Yeah I'm tired too. It's certainly not from thinking.
