>>21978472Depends. Some do some let you shop. The only way I know is that my buddy and I went thrifting which was attached to a pantry. My buddy got in the wrong line and he looked so poor and homeless they just gave him four bags of food. We laughed our as off.

OP, The town I live in used to have a reeeeeaally shitty food bank/pantry. Then about a year ago i guess they somehow got major funding and opened up at a new location, a closed down grocery store. They also teamed up with a bunch of grocery stores and shit so they get some primo stuff in there sometimes. It is absolutely awesome. You can go into the main part once a month and get a major haul. I'm talking all sorts of shit, fresh produce, MEAT, veggies, dry goods, canned goods, deserts, fuckin energy drinks, all sorts of random stuff thats always different. On a good run I can usually fill up my entire fridge and most of my pantry.Then they have the "over spill" or whatever section in the front that you can go to every day, they always have bread and then random stuff that they have a shit ton of and need to get rid of, usually veggies of some sort.Now this is the thing......They just ask you your name, date of birth, and how many are in the household....with no proof needed. I just fuckin lied and said 3, i live alone. This matters because they give you a chart of how much stuff you can take based on how many are in your household. Not only that, I go twice a month every other week for the major haul using a fake name/birthdate. Unethical but whatever, ive never been caught. So many people go in and out theyll never notice. I have literally gone weeks on end without having to go to the grocery store unless i need or want something specific. Anyway, look into it guys.oh and the fun part is seeing what your going to get, because you never know, and getting to see and decide what youre gonna do with it
