Tender yes, but ultimately flavorless
>>21986026If your tenderloin is flavourless then the fattier cuts of that cow would also be underwhelmingIf you think having more fat is gonna save your cheap meat then youre mistaken
>>21986026American?
Skill issue. Do you complain eggs are flavorless? Actually yeah you probably do. You probably overcook eggs and then blast them with hot sauce.Pretending to not like filet is like pretending to only like dry red wine, if you're a literal child it probably sounds sophisticated, so maybe you should grow the fuck up so you can afford a gun to KYS.
>>21986026I'm sorry, I came here to eat meat.Bitch.

>>21986139True story: 20 years ago I ran a dinner menu out of this place that had a totally different breakfast/lunch menu and staff. They were all Mexican ladies and at night it was just me and a sous chef and a dishwasher. Didn't make much sense because the owners had no clue what they were doing, but it paid extremely well and I did what I wanted. One day during the overlap when I was there early prepping and the Mexican ladies were breaking down lunch, one of them asked if they could have a filet mignon to share. I gave them one. Then to my shock they baked it for about 40 minutes before chopping it up and making a big sandwich out of it. The language barrier made communication difficult, but I kept trying to explain to them that they totally wasted a great piece of beef. That their shredded roast beef they used for burritos was much better suited to their purposes. Someone explained to me that their entire culture is pretty much afraid of beef that's even pink inside. I imagine refrigeration and sanitation practices were not adopted there until just a couple generations ago. Anyway, that was the only time I let them have any of my high-end ingredients. There's no way they properly appreciated tenderloin like that.
>>21986676Most latin countries don't get into the weird, near-superstitious veneration of beef the way americlaps do. It's just another dead animal. The exceptions are the argies and maybe the colombians. The big deal animal is usually the pig, which arguably has a better tenderloin but which doesn't cause people to harbor 20 year grudges when it's "wasted".
For example in peru, tenderloin is much appreciated for the local version of chinese stir fry, it's basically a comfort food not something you serve to a hushed table where if someone appreciates it wrong they get stabbed by the host
>>21986676Imagine caring about beef more than people
>>21986872>>21986887Holy shit, you're siding with the stupid Mexican bitches. Only on 4chan would you find such contrarianism. What about my post was so off-putting that you people side with brown women over a white man?You must be the "well done with ketchup" trolls I see from time to time. Anything to go against the grain.
>>21987088No, he's correct. Here is what you're saying>you can have my food as long as you cook it in the way that *I* want you toYou're a self-important little prick
>>21986676>not your stock>the only time you let themBootlicker
>>21987088>you must agree with me because of my skin colorOh boy
>>21987088>opinion given>side with12 year old retard
>>21987105Yes. I was getting $30 for filet mignon entrees. This was in '04. They totally ruined the meat. Why are you even on this board if you're a heathen philistine? >>21987107Whose boots was I licking? It was up to me.You're retarded.
>>21987262>whose bootsThe owners.>no I won't give you the owner's stock, it's too valuable if you won't cook it rightlick, lick, lick
>>21987265No, I personally ate tenderloin all the time, as did my sous chef. It was an issue that they cooked it wrong because it was my decision to make. You clearly don't understand anything if you're even using the term "bootlicker". You're an incel and you'll never be laid in your lifetime. Let that set in.It doesn't excuse your attitude here, but it explains it.
>>21987275Reread this >>21987265 - I understand you're angry because I called you out for being servile. Some people are craven and some aren't.
>>21987262>>21987275>at least 40 yo and still talks like thisThe meme about cooks being scum must be true
>>21986026should eat it whole
>>21986026>t.cooklet
>>21986026Eye fillet does have a flavour but I still prefer rump and t-bone.
Bragging and flaunting about steaks is filthy casual behavior because beef steaks are fucking easy to cook especially the good ones.Post a recipe for a really good London broil and I might be impressed.
