Adults who don't like olives. What's wrong with them?Did they really try an olive when they were 12 and decided they don't like them forever?
>>21990757That has always been my assumption
As long as they're pitted I'm in but the oil coated ones get to be too much very quickly
>>21990757The fact that “picky eaters” exist is a true testament to the degradation of society as a whole
>>21990757the only people i've met who ate olives were this greek family running a pizza shop i used to work for
>>21990757only black olives are good.
>>21990765>"no! you have to like everything!"eat shit, anon.you think stupid.
I love the big green ones stuffed with garlic or blue cheese mmm mm
I don't like American olives. And the things Chinese people do to olives should be considered a war crime.Other than that, there's never been a point in my life where I didn't like olives>>21990763Oil cured olives are generally meant for cooking, not for eating as-is.
Those big juicy spicy olives from Italy are divine
>>21990757I like black olives on pizza or an Italian sub sandwich. But that's it. They're gross otherwise
>>21990822What about in pasta?
>>21990817(forgot picrel)they're like two/three times bigger than regular ones, and taste way better; they're quite expensive (this winter, I spent 35€ just for 1kg)
>>21990765without picky eaters food would be practically tasteless
>>21990828Nope.
>>21990757Dont like their flavour profile. This is coming from a guy who likes damn near every fruit and vegetable.
i love all kinds of olives like crazy but i can get why people dont like them. they are very overpowering. textures of some are weird too.
>>21990757>>21990762>>21990765is there something "special" about olives? I never liked them and can live without it
>>21991932Look at this baby rolling on the floor having a tantrum
>>21990757>did you really try gay sex when you were 12 and decide you didn't like it forever?
>>21991939children are more sensitive to bitterness
>sour>salty>umamiThese are adult flavour profiles.
>>21990757we meds have exceptional olive culture, here in spain we have olivas gazpachas and olives and other stuff mixes that are absolutely insane
Every person I've ever met who doesn't like olives tried canned black olives, perhaps at a shitty pizza place, and never looked back. Then they're unwilling to try the glorious wide variety of olives out there. Kalamata are great, but I could see how they could be an overpowering flavor, but there's way milder olives out there as well
If I go to a supermarket olive bar in the rich part of town and load up on every random type they have how much olive experience will I gain
>>21990757olives are best as an ingredient
>>21990757I'll eat all of them but the only ones I enjoy are Kalamata. The big round black/green ones are ugly, have shit texture and don't taste good.
green olives are shit, they are horribleblack olives are fine
i start to drool involuntarily whenever i open a can or jar of olives!black or green, seedless or not, dry or in oil it doesnt matter. and dont ask me bout my cats, they are full blown tweakin hookers for olives
>>21990757I thought I hated olives for the longest time, but it turns out I just hate California black olives. I love Kalamata olives, and while green olives are kind of bland I don't hate them. California black olives can suck my dick though, they're complete fucking garbage.
>>21990757Because they have a terrible texture and taste like nothing but salt. Fuck olives. Now olive oil, that's where we're talking good stuff. I could drink a good olive oil. >>21991932No not really. They all taste pretty similar.
Black olives are colored with rust.
>>21990757Olives are extremely potent tasting. I like them but I’d understand why someone wouldn’t. like someone who doesnt like kimchi
>>21991937I looked at you, now what
>>21990757Olives are the shit. Behead all olive haters.
>>21990757There's this genetic thing which causes some people to taste bitter things 5x more bitter. Brussels sprouts, Belgian endive, kale and radicchio are practically inedible for these people. Fresh coriander tasting like soap is genetic as well but unrelated. If you want to find out more ask your favourite AI for TAS2R38 and OR6A2
