What are your feelings on rhubarb?
>>21992248Goes good in a crumble, but I've never really done anything else with it
Goes good in me arse, but I've never really done anything else with it
>>21992248I like to make apple rhubarb jam and apple rhubard hard cider. It's pretty good
>>21992248Is that even edible? It looks like a park bench made into a pie
>>21992248great for people that are allergic to non-tessellated food
I don't even know what it is.
>>21992279It’s very tart, and it does get tender. I really like rhubarb but I’m a pussy who’s never baked with it. I just buy them when they’re in season
>>21992248rhubarb is awesome on its own or paired with strawberry
>>21992248tart.
>>21992312This lady at our farmers market makes mini ruhbarb and strawberry pies and they are God tier
>>21992248Strawberry rhubarb pie is easily top 5 for fruit pies. I also really like rhubarb bars and crumbles.I believe I've had some sort of pork and rhubarb recipe, but it does seem very underutilized on the savory front.
>>21992248Disgusting. It's poisonous for a reason.
>Disgusting. It's poisonous for a reason.
>>21992248it rhubs me up the wrong way
>Someone bakes with rhubarb>Doesn't balance up the tartness with sweetness>"Oh I just like the taste of extremely tart green apple skin on some pie crust"
>>21992248love it. i always turn the stuff i grow into rhubarb gin, then make crumble with added ginger
>>21992248It occurrs to me now that I have never seen rhubarb before. That looks like one of the bizarre food items you cam make in No Man's Sky.
>U WANT TO DO IT RAW>what's that?>NO RHUBAR
>>21992639You’re brown.
never rub another man's rhubarb
>>21992248Great. Love the tartness. Obviously good in sweets like pies and crumbles, but it has savory uses too. Boiled down into a glaze, put on a salad. I made a BBQ sauce with it once. It pairs well with pork.
>>21992248Love it. My granny used to make really good rhubarb pie. It's hard to find it anymore, especially straight rhubarb not combined with strawberry.
>>21992248
My grandmother used to make incredibly delicious rhubarb pies but she was a traditional farmer's wife so cooking was one of her primary skills. The only other time I've had it was when Whole Foods was selling it by the slice. It wasn't even 10% as good as grandma's.
>>21992248I've a recipe somewhere for persian lamb stew that uses rhubarb as the main source of acidity. It's good.
>>21992248Very satisfying image OP, reminds me of herringbone flooring.
>>21992725>It wasn't even 10% as good as grandma's.Should have grabbed the recipe before she croaked. So many lost recipes, like tears in the rain.
>>21992841Tileanon is going go have a field day.
>>21992311Same, I usually buy the stalks and then snack on them in public

>>21992248When done correctly, I love it. Strawberry Rhubarb Pie is very delicious.
Growing up we always had a rhubarb patch in the garden, always rhubarb pies (none of that pussy strawberry shit) with homemade crust Core childhood memory

>>21992248I used to love eating it raw as a kid
Rhubarb pie is fucking delicious. I've never actually ate it in anything else though.
>>21992248My grandmother made a crazy good rhubarb pie, unfortunately I've been unable to recreate it. I might try again now that I'm better at cooking, my last attempt was years ago.
Canned some strawberry rhubarb jam just a few hours ago. Came out delicious. It’s just one of those perfect combos clearly created by God.
>>21994268Nice.I make a strawberry/rhubarb slush mixture with some gelatin and some alcohol and freeze it, so it doesn't completely harden. Then on hot summer days I scoop some out and add it to lemonade.
>>21994279Brilliant idea. I’ll have to give that a try this summer
great in yogurt
as a kid i remember dipping it in sugar and trying to eat it raw.i cant even remember if it was good or not like that.love the desserts tho
