Beans on toast is delicious. Also this is the beans on toast I made.
Beans are just gross
This nigga eatin beanie weenies
>>21994298I guess its because brits seem to be the only ppl on earth obsessed with pre packaged food. I guess its because the industrial revolution started there. But even till this day, they still consider "crisps" in a packet or beans from a can as normal parts of a meal.
>>21994298It's carbs on carbs.
>>21994298beans on toast is fine, it's just boring
I just realized that beans on toast are the British version of beans in a tortilla.
>>21994310cus its british
>>21994306everything you're saying could also describe the usa
>>21994306shopping at british grocery store is the "fell for it again award" for me, buying some indulgence only to realize it was empty calories and tasteless for whatever i was duped into thinking would have been good.the concept of tasty things exists its just there is so much crap (which i buy )
>>21994298because it's always spilled over the breadjust put the beans into a bowl and have the bread on the side
>>21994379You are now aware how beans are supposed to be served with chili.
>>21994298It’s because even if you do it right it’s not very good. As a dish it’s half-baked at best. (See what I did there?)
It seems incongruent to most people because it’s starch on starch. Would you roll up potato salad in a flour tortilla? Plus your baked beans are fucking sweet. So that’s gross. Along with your French fries sandwich it seems like some sort of thing you’d make do with until you got some meat. Were these “traditions” all borne of poverty?
>>21994336no it isnt.
Brits eat beans on toast - big deal.Same old silly comments from people who have never eaten them."Look mom, I posted it again."
>>21994298fresh white toast, lashings of full cream salted butter, beans heated on the stove not the microwave . . fookin
>>21994298no fork and knife skills to know how to eat it
>>21994298Just add scrambled eggs and it's a solid brekky
>>21994506bosh!
>>21994336>beans on toast are
>>21994298Australian here who's travelled half the world. People eat beans on toast in Aus, NZ and seen ppl have it in Canada as well. People dont do it justice, make sure you do the beans in a skillet and not the microwave. Add chunks of bacon and mushrooms to it with some chili flakes. Put it on garlic butter toast with cheese so it melts. Shit is amazing before a big day of activity like a festival or skiing or something. Keeps you going all day.
>>21994864Can you not speak English very well?
>>21994871Oops, you replied to the wrong person. How embarrassing!
>>21994876I see that you find the English language difficult to grasp.
>>21994834Add some sausage, bacon, mushrooms and black pudding and we've got a deal.
>>21995168Yea, now you're making me hungry. Love some mushrooms on a fry up
>>21994298Bro you know why. Look at that image. It's literally just bread with a can of beans slopped onto it. You guys didn't invent this because you wanted to, you invented it because the germans kept bombing all the boats you used to bring yourselves food and you were starving to death. It was never made to be enjoyed, it was made to be endured, you just turned that endurance of life into a cultural touchstone for some fucking reason.
>>21994298Needs to be two end slices of the loaf for maximum effect
>>21994298I like baked beans on a hotdog. Does that count?
>>21994306USA invented the microwave dinner and frozen foods.>>21994354You could buy the meat and fresh vegetables and cook? >>21994506I hate this cuck
>>21995545>USA invented the microwave dinner and frozen foods.*USA popularised the microwave dinner and frozen foods.FTFY
>>21994865Baked beans are also very popular in Malaysia and Indonesia. They have numerous local brands.
>>21994298What if instead of beans on toast it was beef stew on rye bread
>>21995630A bit more expensive and time consuming but it does look good.
>>21995633Brits used canned beans right? We can used canned beef stew
>>21994298Because its stupid. Beans go in a bowl. Its nearly liquid. Brits have it on a piece of bread. Its like if we put spaghetti on a biscuit and said it was a normal snack.
>>21995639>We??????There is nothing wrong with putting stew on bread, I've done it . . . .done the same with chilli and ragu.Although if I was American, I would make up a story about how and where it was invented and pretend it was unique.
>>21994310>It's carbs on carbs.explain why this is bad without being retarded
>>21994865>Addyou're not australianHeinz beans on toasted and buttered white bread is all you needyou dont need to "add" anything to it.sure it can be "better" but its great on its own.
>>21995974Carbs exist to give structure and fibre to protein.
>>21995168Is a fry up sandwich a thing? What about a fry up breakfast burrito?
>>21995979>give structure and fibre to proteinThe fuck are you even saying. You obviously have no idea about anything, so let's break it downCarbohydrates are;Simple;Sugars - Honey, Fruits, Milk, Granulated/refined sugarsComplex;Starches - Potatoes, Rice, Pasta, WheatFiber - Pulse, Beans, Root veg, Whole grainSimple carbs are converted to glucose very quickly, they give an energy boost fast. Exactly what you need in the morning.Complex carbs are slower to process, with starches becoming the same thing as sugars, just slower, providing a steady release of energy through the day. Fibbers are either water soluble or non soluble, they are bulk to move things through the system. So beans on toastBeans - Fiberous, some proteinTomato sauce - Sugary, some fiber Toast - Starches, some sugarWell what do you know? All three types of carbs in one dish.Sugary quick release of glucose for energy in the morning.Starchy slow release of glucose to last until lunch.Fiber to regulate the system.Crazy why people eat meals like that first thing right?
>>21996099That's pretty much a breakfast sandwich. No one really puts beans or black pudding in them tho
>>21994302depends on how you make them>>21994503I live in the states and made them with an egg, which is something that people should actually try.>>21995651>Although if I was American, I would make up a story about how and where it was invented and pretend it was unique.a bit salty are we?
>>21994306Yes, only the British eat food from cans. Absolutely fucking obsessed...
>>21994298>no butteryankoid detected
>>21996275you can "yank" on my pecker, bong
>>21996283Not a bong, yankeedoodle.
>Toast>Heavy butter>Marmite (NZ)>Beans>Melted cheese>Fried or poached eggsDreamy
>>21996253So what canned food is more nutritious and convenient than the fat burgs Americans eat for breakfast. When I was little I ate scooby doo meatballs in gravy with onions for breakfast and it was delicious and so filling i didn't need to eat lunch.
