haven't been able to get enough of these since i tried them about a week ago. what are your favorite things to do with potatoes?
>>21995027You only tried a potato a week ago? Do you live in the desert?
Boil ‘em, mash ‘em, stick ‘em in a stew
honestly baked potato rubbed with oil and salt is my favorite
>>21995029i grew up in a nightshade-free household
>>21995027
>>21995027I haven't tried it yet but I recently saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2j7f8uv130&t=787s And I think I'm going to try my hand at some pommes maxim.>>21995034Did you also grow up never eating school lunch and in a town with 0 fast food places? Did you never have potato or fries at a friends place? You are lying anon!!!
>>21995035wow these look delish, imagine the crunch>>21995038pic related
>>21995043>imagine the crunchThey aren't even that crunchy. If that's what you want you should make croquettes. Or buy them frozen as those are often breaded.
>>21995027wait til you find out about onions
>>21995027patatas bravas, oven finished, cream of the crop
>>21995043That’s very interesting, so no tomato either? I had to be on a no nightshade diet a while ago, it’s bothersome
>>21995027cramming
>>21995027>skin, cut pommes>boil in water with a teaspoon of vinegar for 3 min to remove starch (vinegar makes them like rubber, so they dont get soft)>fry at 150C/300F for 7 mins>fry at 190/350 for 3 mins>add salt>add mayonnaise (its cool and you can eat them before they cooled down)
>>21995027Eh, can't see the hype. I tried one once that was baked. It had so much other stuff in it, you could hardly taste the potato. Which was fine because there was very little to taste. Many much better root vegetables in flavor and nutrition, don't waste time on these. Simply they are peasant/animal feed for poverty timmies. Leave it at that imo.
>>21995027>potato salad>potato wedges>cheesy garlic mashall you need
I like to steam potatoes and eat them plain.
>>21995027Bake them till they reach 195 inside. Wrap in foil and let rest for 15 minutes. Place in fridge for 3 hours or overnight. Cut cold tater into wedges or fries, pan sear or fry in pork lard. Season with salt and whatever you desire king. Enjoy a crisp yet soft and pillowy potato.
>>21995143>I tried one onceYou’ve only ever eaten a single potato?
potato pancakes or some crispy hashbrowns are god tier
>>21996049It was enough.
Wow. Like 90% of the things I eat, I have no memory of the first time trying some super common staple food like potatoes. How odd that you're just now getting to them and you can read and write and work the internet.I don't often accuse people of living under a rock. And I'm not starting now. How would that even work? A cave? A normal life of isolation but with a pebble taped to the top of your head?
>>21996374It must be strange for people with superior autobiographical memory to have the ability to remember the first time they ate almost everything
>>21996374Maybe anon is from Asia or some shit. I don't think they eat potatoes as often as westerners do.
