The bigger question: who’s next?
>>21998361never heard of themif it's anything like Mission I have a good idea on why they failedfast casual shouldn't cost $40
>>21998361Hopefully all places like this and Applebee's, Fridays, etc all close down and the food is given to better restaurants and grocery stores.
>>21998367friday's went out of business after covid.please step outside.
Never heard of them.
>>21998361GOOD. I got takeout for a group of my friends there once and they forgot half the food, all but one plate was made wrong. I went back for the missing food and came home, still missing shit and all that bag was messed up orders too. I called to complain and the kid on the phone hung up on me. I got a hold of the owner of the place but fuck that place, making me drive across town in rush hour traffic twice for cold, bad, incorrect food and jackass service. Im glad every one of those shitheads is unemployed now. FUCK SMOKEY BONES.
>>21998361Why are the bones smokey instead of the meat
They'll find a way to blame this on Gen Z
>>21998361I've only been to this place once and I've only ever seen it in the Massachusetts, it was mediocre but edible. This was several years though so I bet the quality nosedived before it went bankrupt.
>>21998361Wow. They closed in my area 15 years ago.
>>21998365Kudos for mentioning the obscene cost of food at Mission. Every time I go in there I see fewer and fewer customers. I also botched the description for Smoky Bones it is casual (like Chilis) not fast casual (like Mission).
>>21998385They actually had a pretty good skillet cornbread but beyond that they were awful
because the name of the franchise is them trying to playfully say "we burnt the food on purpose" but only millennials like that kind of quirk chungus shit
>>21998486so it's closer to $50 a meal then?I get barbecue is an inherently expensive venture because of all the meats but casualized food needs to mean casualized pricesif I'm going to a sterile corporatized version of a cuisine I'm not going to want to pay the same amount that you'd pay at a real eatery because it sure as shit isn't going to be as good as a real eatery for that cuisine 99% of the time
>>21998361Kinda surprising. The one near me has done consistently good business for all the years it's been open, although the service and wings have been pretty crappy for the last few years.
>>21998486The Mission near me is within about a half-mile of Smokey Bones and I'm kinda surprised they didn't die first. Prices are ridiculous and I never see a crowd there.
>>21998361>fast casual bbqnot in my town
>>21998627yeah no shitthat's like an Italian bragging there's no Olive Gardens in his country
>>21998361>run by white peopleI mean……..yeah. white People are unintelligent, incompetent, and always scheming on how to cheat their workers and businesses partners. Tbqh
>>21998361>>run by white people>I mean……..yeah. white People are unintelligent, incompetent, and always scheming on how to cheat their workers and businesses partners. Tbqh
A bunch of Dinosaur Barbecue locations are closing down too, probably not long for this world
BBQ no longer makes sense. BBQ only made sense when brisket was cheap. Now if I have to choose between BBQ and a steak house at the same price point, the steak just wins.
>>21998486>casual, not fast casualYou know what I never bothered to consider there's a difference and I don't fucking care because I don't eat at these places anyways.
>>21998361How can you call them shitty when it says quality meats right there on the sign? Are quality meats shitty to you?
>>21998908Pork rib and shoulder is still relatively cheap.
>>21998361There was a Dickey's open briefly in my town. They were terrible. Overpriced, no smoke flavor and the sauce tasted like fake maple syrup. They didn't last a year and the only other location anywhere near me also closed.
>>21998361Must not've been popular if this is the first time I'm hearing them
>>21998384Hooray! I just don't pay attention to crappy fast casual restaurants but that's good to hear. Now we wait for the others to fail.
>>21998384>friday's went out of business after covid.
>>21999167
>>21998395back to facebook, karen
This thread feels like a fever dream, like walking into an EEnE online or fingerbox thread for the first time. All these "american chains" people know and have stron opinions about but I have literally never heard of or seen before, except the tgi fridays post. It's like a thread full of europoors AI generating fake restaurants to claim are shutting down in america as a weird in-joke but then I look it up and I guess they are all real, some even having existed in places I've lived before. What the fuck.
>>21999333Strange that you say that because I have also never heard of any of these chains outside of tgi fridays, and also use that same alien at a computer reaction image a lot, but I come here to see you have already posted what I would post with an image I might attach to it.This whole thread is unsettling.
>>21999333>>21999341Spooky level rising
>>21999333today anons learn about the existence of regional resturant chains
>>21998908Brisket and pulled pork are better than steak. To say nothing of properly smoked ribs.>>21998361Good, the only one I've ever been to was ghetto as hell and mediocre.
>>21999365Solipsism is a hell of a drug
I will never understand buying BBQ, BBQ is supposed to be made at home on a Weber grill
>>21999444>double tripsT R V K ERVKE
>>21999444double trips of total truth
>>21999444If the BBQ place is good then it will be just as good(better than yours but we can pretend) for none of the work.
>is supposed to beinsta-discard
>>21999441it's tiresome how pervasive this sentiment is on this website. so many incels think that if they've never personally seen/experienced something then it's fake, or worse yet it's a "glowie" conspiracy specifically targeting them. i think if they knew the truth about how few people actually gave a shit about them that they'd kill themselves, and i wish they would.
... and then the esl apes with 2nd grade reading comprehension somehow missed when I said that upon researching they even existed in towns I have lived in without ever crossing my radar and start kvetching about incels and glowniggers o algo
>incel seething because her behavior got profiled to a T
>>21999588Holy based!
>>21998406Well, if you'd rather stare at a phone screen than go out it eat, it's kinda true.

>>21998619A fellow Berks chad?
how is she still having a melty? lmao
Nail Jakshtis to a cross
Marie Callender’s is going out of business too, which makes sense. Overpriced burnt microwaved food. The only reason to go there is to get a pie on Thanksgiving, but Costcos pie is almost as good and much bigger. I’ve never been to Red Lobster so I don’t know if they deserve their bankruptcy.
>>21999483>If the BBQ place is good then it will be just as good(better than yours but we can pretend) for none of the work.BBQ takes time but not a lot of effort. Prep meat -> marinade meat overnight -> prep grill -> put meat on grill and check every 20 minutes until done. It's a long process and takes planning but not much actual work.
Sad!
