For me? It's the patty melt, the best grilled cheese sandwich.
>t. gordon ramsay
>>21998714couldn't agree more. the caramelized onions and cheese are all you need on the burger. you can walk into any good diner and get a good patty melt. PSA to 5 guys, flipping your buns over does not make it a patty melt.
Superior to a cheeseburger in my most humble opinion.
>>21998714you spelled crock matador wrong.
>>21998714based grilled cheese enjoyer
>>21998714>patty melt> grilled cheeseWhich is it?If you asked for one and they gave you the other you wouldn't be happy
>>21998983if i ordered a damn ass grilled cheese and they gave me a fuckin hamburger i'd be like yeah ok i can fuck with this
>>21998986if I ordered a grilled cheese from a restaurant it would mean that I saw the patty melt on the menu and purposely chose not to order it
>>21998986I mean in most cases, yea. But like if you were some little baby idiot and really just wanted a grilled cheese with just cheese for some reason. Like you looked over the whole menu and were like, grilled cheese. Then got a patty melt. You'd be like, wtf this is a completely different thing
>>21998988if i had a restaurant i'd put a grilled cheese on the menu and when you ordered it i'd straight up scissor kick you in the back of the head because you came into my restaurant and ordered a grilled cheese
>>21998983The only circumstance i would be unhappy in is if i paid for one and then the one i got costs less than what i already paid for
>>21998991What's your restaurant called? "Big dumb retard's house of grilled cheese sandwiches - now with a free scissorkick to the back of the head with every order"?
>>21998991plenty of diners and small local greasy spoons have grilled cheese which is the same type of place that would serve a patty melt
ordering a grilled cheese at a restaurant is the same as ordering a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
>>21998983>Which is it?Both. A melt is a subcategory of grilled cheese sandwich. A ham and cheese melt or tuna melt are grilled cheese sandwiches too.>>21998989Any restaurant that lists "grilled cheese" while including a beef patty will be required to mention the patty in the description. Your entire premise is fiction.
>>21998714Wow, wow, wow..... I want to try it
>>21998714i like mine with bacon and rye bread
>>21998714A grilled cheese is only cheese its not a way to prepare a meal
>>21998983Its a Grilled: "Cheese Sandwich" A patty melt is Texas toast with a burger patty on it. A GC is a cheese sandwich thats grilled
>>21999535lol wrong, dumbass.
>>21999543Most people I know fry them rather than grill them.
>>21999018Nigger stop being disingenuous. If someone asks for a grilled cheese they will always just mean a toasted or grilled sandwich with only cheese. Anything else would be a melt because there is no standard for what's specifically in a belt besides cheese and some other core ingredient. Melts and grilled cheeses are different thingsGrilled cheeses are their own separate thing
The patty melt is a type of grilled cheese sandwich.
>>21998714>the Benz seatbelt >hotter than a patty melt>I spoke vivid vocabulary words>to ensure that I was felt
>>21998991It's more likely you'd trying scissoring because you don't have a penis
>>21999577But its not a cheese sandwich. Its a sandwich with a burger patty
>>21999639Correct, it's a grilled cheese sandwich with a patty and grilled onions.
all that matter is the cheese melt
>>21999572>stop being disingenuous.kek> If someone asks for a grilled cheese they will always just mean a toasted or grilled sandwich with only cheeseYes, and? When you order a hot dog, it comes without chili or cheese. Yet a chili cheese dog is still a type of hot dog. 10 year olds understand this stuff, you don't. kek>Melts and grilled cheeses are different thingsThey are hierarchically related. The melt is a type of grilled cheese.>Grilled cheeses are their own separate thingThen chili cheese dogs are completely separate from hot dogs. Which they're obviously not, so (You) are wrong, as always.
>>21999643But iys not a cheese sandwich any more its a burger with cheese on toast
>>21999797It's a melt, which is what a grilled cheese sandwich is. like a cheese pizza is the basic pizza.
>>21999834A pizza isnt the toppings its the delivery of the food. Its a "grilled" cheese sandwich, if you add lettuce and tomato and bacon it stops being a "cheese sandwich" it becomes a BLT if you add tuna to a grilled cheese its not a grilled cheese any more its a tuna sandwich
>>21999844>if you add tuna to a grilled cheese its not a grilled cheese any more its a tuna sandwichNo, that would be a tuna melt which is a grilled cheese sandwich.
>>21999543Patty melts come on rye, dipshit.
>>21998714what i usually get from my local NJ dinerit has to come on rye and cant have any gay sauces or anything, just butter, onions, cheese, rye, and burger
>>21999738If you order hot dog. You generally say what you want on it. They're typically custom orders by default. Unless it's a speciality dog. You can't just order a hot dog anywhere and assume it'll always have the same stuff on it. Ordering a grilled cheese anywhere id bet would always get you a sandwich with only cheese as fillings. And a chili cheese dog and any other hot dog, always has dog in the name. A type of hot dog. Grilled cheese doest share any root words with any melts or any other sandwiches. The name is unique to the sandwich because the sandwich is unique. In that it has no fillings besides cheese. Unlike any other sandwich. If a melt was a type of grilled cheese wouldn't it be a cheese melt?
>>21998718more like anthony hackdain
>>21998714Replace the patty with prosciutto and you're right
>>21998714A PATTY MELT IS NOT A GRILLED CHEESE!!! ITS A PATTY MELT!
>>22000069They weren't joking when studies said that zoomers are lower iq than previous generations.
>>21999873>If you order hot dog. You generally say what you want on it.Yeah like mustard and ketchup. Not chili and cheese, you'd have to order a "chili cheese dog" for that. >Unless it's a speciality dog. Exactly. Melts are specialty grilled cheeses. >You can't just order a hot dog anywhere and assume it'll always have the same stuff on it. There are places where toppings are self serve and you only get the sausage+bun. So this is not a hard rule. >And a chili cheese dog and any other hot dog, always has dog in the name. A type of hot dog. >The name is unique to the sandwich because the sandwich is unique. In that it has no fillings besides cheese. Unlike any other sandwich. >If a melt was a type of grilled cheese wouldn't it be a cheese melt? Here's a menu of a place that has "Grilled Cheese" in the name yet sells "melts" and calls its cheese-only variety a "melt". As you can see, melts can be considered grilled cheese and even grilled cheese can be considered a melt.
If you put cheese on a hamburger it becomes a cheese burger, if you put a patty on a grilled cheese it becomes a patty melt.
