Find them here.Rolando PujolMar 12, 2023∙ PaidI’ve had the good fortune of visiting a number of Maryland Fried Chicken locations, which have declined from around 250 in the 1970s to 29 by my rough reckoning today. That’s soon to be 28.With the news of the looming closure of the Winter Garden, Florida, location, I decided to take a look at what’s left of this chain. The Retrologist by Rolando PujolAfter 57 years, Maryland Fried Chicken location in Winter Garden, Florida, is closingWith its stepped-gabled roofline that seems more Flemish than Florida, its candy-cane poles supporting the simple portico, and its gigantic neon sign featuring a chicken and a chick that has a proto “Partridge Family” vibe, Maryland Fried Chicken has long been a cinematic …Read more3 years ago · 2 likes · Rolando PujolThe official list on the Maryland Fried Chicken website lists 26 locations. Of those, four appear to be closed. My research also turned up seven that are NOT listed on the site, including one that opened as late as 2010, so that brings us, very unofficially, to 29 locations still using the name/iconography and presumably, recipe. But all of this gets muddy when a chain is no longer really a chain in its original sense, when it’s a loose confederation of family restaurants. The locations that have photos are ones I have visited. From my count, there are 12 in Florida, 11 in Georgia, five in South Carolina and one in Michigan. Please let me know if there are any more out there, or if you have any photos to share of defunct or repurposed ones.Enjoy the tour!

>>22000353been over forty years since i had it, maybe i should ride my bike up to Imlay City and have some again.
>>21999537This, nobody from Maryland has ever heard of this shit.
>>21998897Winter Garden closed a while back, the one near me is still open though it's attached to a chinese store so I highly doubt it's MFC outside the name on the sign.Either way the few times I got it, it was better than KFC but worse than Bojangles (before Bojangles became a tender restaurant). The sides were all terrible, salty garbage however.
>>21999630>Freshly fried chips with spicy dipping sauceIt feel so fucking gross to eat, but it's so fucking good
As a Maryland native, I have no idea what this is.This is my local MD fried chicken place.
