I’ve just accidentally taken a bite of wasabi – the stuff is far too strong. It’s made my nose go haywire.I just can’t understand how anyone can eat that stuff every day.
>>22000794Because you're not supposed to take a whole bite of it
>>22000794You don't eat it like soup. It's a condiment. You add little bit to sth or dip it in.
>>22000794>made my nose go haywirethat's the bonusplus it was prob horseradish dyed greennot actual wasabi
>>22000878>plus it was prob horseradish dyed green >not actual wasabithis
>>22000794I bet you 1000 Internets that what you had was green colored horse radish. real wasabi is hard to get and usually grated just before serving.
>>22000794did you eat it by itself or on something? it's easy to overdo it because it's so strong, you really only need a little bit>>22000798>know multiple people who thought it was guacamole for some reason and took a big mouthful of it
>>22000794I may be masochistic, I take a whole dollop as if it were guacamole, suffer tremendously and do it again for the fun of it.
>>22000878>>22000794>>22001191Is wasabi good for blocked sinuses? My nose is always stuffed up from doing drugs. Looking for a natural remedy, I don't trust big pharma.
>>22001199when I'm stuffed up, I eat a whole fresh habanero pepper.
>>22001199Sort of. It makes your nose run but that might make things worse by making it full of mucus. If it's drugs that go up your nose you could look into something like a neti pot which lets you flush out your sinuses directly but make sure you use distilled or boiled and then cooled water or you can give yourself a brain eating parasite.
>>22000886real wasabi is expensive as shit outside of japan (if you can find any at all). it also doesn't have a particularly long shelf life and needs to be grated fresh. i'm completely fine with my 97% dyed horseradish with 3% wasabi mixture, it's convenient and still fairly tasty on sushi. i had sushi with real wasabi while I was in Japan and sure, it was a bit nicer, it's not like it was some kind of out-of-this-world massively superior experience.
allyl isothiocyanate is the active ingredient of horseradish and mustard (a 1:1 mix of water and mustard powder is as harsh as any horseradish you've ever had most likely) and causes miscarriages in pregnant women
>>22001298>it's not like it was some kind of out-of-this-world massively superior experienceThis was my experience with cuban cigars. I mean it was good and whatnot but it didn't blow a new world out of the water.
>>22001153>I THOUGHT IT WERE ONE MUSHY PEA
>>22001298That was my experience as well, but I had it in korea- there's a place where they grow wasabi in this bigass cave and you can buy/try it. They had wasabi soft serve ice cream too and it was surprisingly really really good.
>>22001199>Is wasabi good for blocked sinuses?no. it's very painful, and make my scalp itch.
>>22001199Im dead fucking serious try the intake nose band system. Its kind of expensive but it works. At least it works for me. I guess it depends where exactaly the choke point in your nasal passage is. Honestly I dont think its a reach to say it changed my life.
>>22001199>doing drugs>don't trust big pharma
>>22000794I have allergies and runny nose year round so I love wasabi
>>22001357Outside of the US Cubans are just "good cigars". The embargo has made them some sort of mythical forbidden fruit in America.
>22000794>I've just taken a bite of wasabi -- the stuff is really strong. It cleared my nose and has a nice kick to it, wow I could have me some wasabi every day and never tire of it!>>22001199I guess you could try it, any spicy food in general will do probably. Maybe you should try some hot instant noodle soup druggie anon. Personally I like add dried chili flakes (or fresh chili peppers) to some Indomie. >>22001242Myeah always use bottled water people can die from using a neti pot with tap water.
>>22000794Gotta hide raw flavors.
