is canned food really that bad?
>>
>>22001353
it can be
>>
>>22001353
It usually isn't.
>>
>>22001353
i wouldn't trust a meal out of a can, but food stuffs like beans and mushrooms are fine i think
>>
>>22001353
no it helped millions of people to be able to keep food for long periods before refrigeration. there is nothing wrong with it though some vitamins (like C) are destroyed when pasteurized.
>>
Complaining about food in a can is like complaining about refrigeration.
>>
>>22001353
I never get how something having low calories is an advertising point.
>Less than 180 calories
All this means is that a can of that won't satiate you and you'll be hungry again after an hour.
Calories are the MAIN REASON why we need to eat food in the first place, with everything else so much lower on the list that it's not even funny anymore.
Why would you eat something that doesn't fill you?
>>
>>22001353
What does a print ad from the late 80s or early 90s have to do with the current state of canned garbage?
>>
>>22001488
Really?
lol, you really don't understand?
>>
>>22001488
Calories != satiation.
It's easy to end up with a calorie surplus while not feeling full if you eat nothing but grilled cheese and drink lots of soda.
It's easy to end up in a calorie deficit while still feeling full if your diet consists of spinach and carrots.

Most people in civilized nations have no problem obtaining enough calories to function.
>>
>>22001488
>I never get how something having low calories is an advertising point.
probably because of the rise in overweight/obesity

>>22001506
also this, refined oil/starch/sugar is higher in calories but doesn't keep you full as long as the less processed forms which are lower in calories
>>
>>22001353
Whose can?
>>
>>22001353
Probably not back when that ad was made, now it is pure goyslop poison.
>>
The tomato sauce in canned pasta has always been terrible.
>>
>>22001353
Yes if it added lots of sugar and or salt as preservatives. Canned foods tend to lose their flavor too, so they need extra salt and sugar to make up for it.
>>
>>22001353
Canned ingredients like condensed milk, beans, stock, corn, tomatos, shroom, spam, etc are perfectly fine.
Canned meals are mostly shit and very low in volume for what you usually pay, they tend to be all mush.
You want some ghetti that can last for a while in the pantry? Just get canned tomato, tomato paste,, dry ghetti, and dry spices and mix them all when you want some ghetti with tomato sauce.
>>
>>22001353
>less 180 calories
Why do all these faggots brag about how little calories their food has? Don't they understand the purpose of food?
>>
>>22002260
post your wrist, fatty
>>
>>22002260
People are just animals that talk. No matter how stupid you imagine them being they are much stupider.

Are sweet beans good for you?
>>
>>22001488
You’re acting like people need more calories. Close to 80% of people here can survive an extreme food shortage for 6 months on their fat alone.

>>22001353
Nah, it has its place.
>>
>>22002260
Because not everyone is trying to get bigger all the time.
>>
>>22001488
>pretending to be stupid
People in first world countries don't eat for nutrition; they eat for pleasure. Something being lower in calories means that you can eat more of it compared to a more calorie dense food, hence you can get more pleasure from it.
>>
>>22003907
Then eat less.

Some of the best food in the world is canned or jarred. Caviar, ventresca, bocartes, olives, capers. Certain canned/jarred foods are either so common or so niche they're always good (it's a waste of time to make them at home): cornichons and pickled onions for instance.

Then there's the vast majority. Sardines, wasabi (4.5% wasabi, rest is horseradish), beetroot, chestnuts, beans. Cheap shit, sold at twice the price, with garbage ingredients.
>>
>>22001353
Depends on the product, I wouldn't want to eat a canned cheeseburger but rillettes or asparagus I pretty much always buy canned.

>buy a bunch of canned shit
>let it sit in the pantry for years
>remember it exists
>it's all way past best by date
>chuck it
>repeat

Unless the label says "no/low sodium" it's basically just a salt bomb
>>
>>22005064
>salt bomb
just exercise and drink water and put a banana in your ass
>>
>>22001353
Cans are a development stage, it's not the best but it IS real safe food. It's a civilization making food ultimately portable for the first time.
