What's the point of making ice cream when the ingredients cost more than just buying straight ice cream?
>>
>>22002905
control of what goes into it, most videos Ive seen of this people are making fruit sorbets, not xanathum gum gabldiegook poison soy cream

good luck buying ice cream with actual cream in it

it's all sugar milk held together with guar gum

>UH ITS NOT REAL ICE CREAM
It tastes good and is just a cold, sweet treat regardless. You think you're getting some health benefit from "Pure ice cream" vs a Breyers tub?

Midwits and thinking they've discovered some hidden truth... lmfao

Not after you turn 25 it doesn't, unless you've taken absolutely no effort whatsoever to develop your palate. It's cloying and chewy and flavorless, the only reason to eat it is because you're addicted to sugar and fat.
>>
you too can buy hydrogenated palm oil, guar/xantham gum, corn syrup in bulk and make affordable ice cream at home

Only a child would like low quality garbagecream, yes, in the same way that only a child would like frozen tendies. Simple, weak flavors with weird, plastic textures simply are not satisfying once you've been cooking for yourself for several years.

The /ck/ hack is using frozen bananas instead of heavy cream as a base,
then add milk or half & half or yogurt (technically unnecessary but makes it closer to ice cream fatty creaminess and dairy taste),
and then some other fruit or flavors if you want.
Heavy cream is the most expensive aspect.

Frozen bananas helps with texture (milk or half and half alone is very icy) and bulk mass, while also providing healthy sugar because of the nutrition matrix of the banana.

if you added some binder gum stuff into regular ice cream it too prob wouldnt turn into liquid
>>
>>22003294
Not usually, its unneeded.
I'll add maple syrup or coconut sugar typically if feeling extra luxurious.

But fruit alone is typically enough (use nearly over-ripe bananas for maximum sweetness), and so its genuinely healthy.

you're right about it being arbitrary; vegetarians aren't as retarded as vegans, though they aren't exactly sane, either

vegetarian means you don't eat meat. you have the reasoning of a small child. like, completely backwards.

you still enslave the animals, and the animals will eventually get killed
the production method used to produce milk and eggs involve killing later on 100%
you're part of the value chain for producing meat
>>
>>22003327
there are some people who try to avoid killing plants too but generally it probably causes less suffering to kill a plant anyway

>>22003330
it still results in less killing

keto works, though its not for everyone. you cut carbs and sugar and force your body into ketosis. i tried it but caved on day 5. no idea how people do that shit

if it doesn't have a compressor, it isn't a real ice cream machine. fuck nnja and all their garbage plastic shit for instagram shills
>>
>>22003348
its popular in restaurants and gives different type of ice cream that works better depending on preferences
since it whips less air into the mixture than regular ice cream maker its denser and gives more intense flavor
>>
>>22003342
it does work but the stuff about ketosis is probably secondary to just eating less refined junk food which keto forces you to limit

Yea, this device is not just some shitty gimmick. It's based on the Pacojet, which is used in professional kitchens. The machine is usually priced between $7000 to $11000.
>>
>>22003352
as someone who spent a lot of time on keto the big difference is how you think about food and the pleasure seeking being reduced

food doesnt give you same response when theres no sugar or refined carbs, and when you think about food you think about low sweetness experience which leads to the desire to eat is less
on regular diet I'd constantly go "yeah I could eat more pasta, ice cream, bread" even if im not hungry because the expected high resulting from tasting those things overcomes overeating inhibitors

Not that anon, but that's interesting to me. I've kept a no/low sugar diet for a long time, and when I drift back into eating even a little sugar I start wanting larger portions of all kinds of food, even if they aren't sweet. I think it is related to blood sugar peaks and valleys, and the desire for food created by those valleys, but your explanation is probably a factor too.
>>
>>22004238
Hey retard, you know any carbohydrate will raise your blood sugar? Not just literal table sugar...

Every emulsifier, thickener, etc, messes with the flavor, so they have to artificially boost it. I just smash frozen fruit with a hammer, add a third of the volume milk, and shake vigorously. Two ingredients, perfect flavor. I guess you can add sugar if you're a toddler. Try mango or pineapple, they work best.
>>
>>22002908
Why does looking at the label filter /ck/ so hard? Same happens with spaghetti sauce, somehow it's less complicated to buy a bunch of tomatoes and shit, and cook them in a certain order, than it is to just look at the damm label and pick the one that isn't loaded up with corn syrup

Indeed, people seem to forget that cooking or any kinda food preparation is a lot of work and unless you're a cookingfag with nothing better to do than stand around the kitchen for hours on end, it's a waste of time

>bro, just get a cow and milk it yourself, it's real easy!

There’s clearly a difference in texture and taste between bryers and tillamook though. If you can’t distinguish between the two you have shitty senses, simple as
