My Aldis doesnt seem to get as many of these Aldis Finds food items, mostly just plastic trash. I have to drive a half hour to go to the one with all the food imports, it's very gay. The shortbread spritz cookies with chocolate are fucking excellent with coffee, the wafer cookies are OK. Haven't gotten the keks yet. Just had one of their herring fillets in tomato (pineapple curry & mango pepper are other flavors) with crisp bread. Great lunch with a pickle! If they stop selling those Norwegian Sea Salt Crispbreads I will kill myself. If they only sell these canned herring fillets during German Week it will make me cry.

Be prepared to cry. It's baffling but they also sell the delicious canned Potato Soup and other items only during German Week. Probably the same for OP since it's Deutsche Kusche brand. Anyway, yeah, all of their tinned herring is delicious and the pineapple & mango sauce flavors are unusual to find, so it's a shame you can't buy them all year.

I started shoppin at Aldis again a few months ago after not going there for like 10 years. I never knew they had such goodies. I remember as an early teenager my mother buying a specific hot chip from there, but I've never been able to identify it or find it again. I'll take your word and check out that canned soup tomorrow, thanks anon.

The Doppelkeks-Rolle is an absolute staple sweet in Germany. Although that is an ALDI in-house brand, the original Doppelkekse are the "Prinzenrolle" kekse, by DeBeukelaer.

I find it so weird that when looking at amazon and store online the canned herring fillets are usually mostly available in weird sauces like mango when that's an absolute rarity in Germany and they are usually simply in tomato sauce.

To be fair, Aldi in Europe sells all sorts of weird things during their so-called "American Week" too. You might also be surprised how much of Aldi America's "German Week" is about salty deli meats, and cheap frozen soft pretzels. But the mango-pepper and curry-pineapple herrings are worth a try if you ever see them.
