It's weird how there are two kinds of places in the world- ones where this kinda paper tube sorbet is the cheapest most ubiqtous thing ever, and ones where it's a fancy expensive gimmick with boutique flavours, with the cheap shit being that chemical trash on a stick, you know it, with none of the satisfying ice crystal texture, sometimes even floppy (ew). Why is that?
>>
common and cheap in Germany
but I've also seen weird more expensive ones from time to time like a vodka filled one with energy drink flavoring

cultural discrepancies or economic factors. Sometimes a seemingly irrelivant decision by some individual or corporation with grow to become a cultural norm and industry standard.

You're asking why some retailers sell cheap garbage facsimiles and other retailers sell expensive high profit stuff?
Thats a question even capitalism cannot fully explain.

Capitalism doesnt explain any questions
Unless someone were paying for it

It's less retailers and more cultures it seems. It's not like you can go to the shop across the street in China or Russia and find a tube there, you'll just find more soft lollies, while in, say, Thailand and southern Europe the cheapo tube is the default and lollies are a step up alternative. The boutique tubes seem to be universal-ish, probably because of logistics, they require simpler machines so a smaller company can afford the entry price and not rely on economies of scale to pay off the lolly maker.

Questions are answered, not explained.
