What the fuck happened? They had a superior product to Subway, and are even better than popular places now like Jersey Mikes.

It’s weird, there was a location by my work that I would go to - they had tasty sandwiches and the prices were good but at some point there were just no other customers in there at lunch. For some reason even good restaurants fall out of favor and just never come back (rip fuddruckers)

i used to love the high quality toasted subs from quiznos man. the turkey peppercorn ranch was unhealthy as fuck but the only turkey sandwich i ever truly enjoyed.
It's all because of the conveyor oven. Imagine a huge lunch rush with that thing bottlenecking your output. Nowadays it should be better since we can all preorder toppings and shit from a kiosk/app

They gouged franchisees so much that it was just cheaper to open a Subway.

Basically just this. They mandated in their franchise contracts they MUST buy everything from Quizno's corporate including napkins, straws, and I think they tried to do cleaning supplies too (on top of the food they must order). Franchises initially agreed because nullifying a contract would've been too expensive to just walk away then Quizno's corporate jacked up prices on these "must have" supplies. Some Franchisee's got smart and ordered plain brown napkins for much cheaper which was a violation of the contract and got sued for it.

Jackasses at the top thought they were in a monopoly and started bending over franchisees for fun until they all did a class action and deleted the company in general.

Cool story bro, I mean that legitimately.

They were good but Firehouse Subs was the best chain, until they started to suck like every other chain that passes a certain threshold of locations and buyouts

Quiznos had one advantage over Subway and it was that their subs were toasted.

Subway bought toasters.
