Why do these taste terrible by themselves?
>>
because they're just plain tortilla shells
>>
>>22011197
Is there a way to make them taste good without usual taco ingredients?
>>
>>22011184
Secret. They still taste like shit with stuff in them.
>>
Make sure you microwave them, I just realized you're supposed to and I'm fucking 45 years old. They'll be softer if you do. Cruncy and hard as fuck if you don't.

At least this goes for the stand and stuff, not sure about the version in your pic.

When I make my own tortillas msg makes em addictive. Idk if it'll work on mega processed veg oil goyslop though.
>>
>>22011184
not salted

>mfw the crunchy shells are hard and crunchy
>>
>>22011200
I'll try that if I'm ever in a situation where they're the only food available

>>22011202
So these shitters will never be good unless you make them yourself

Meanwhile softshells will always be good
>>
>>22011200
You're supposed to toast them in the oven to make them harder and crunchier
>>
>>22011210
>So these shitters will never be good unless you make them yourself
Idk cause I never tried em.
>>
>>22011240
If when people said food was "dry" and "flavorless" and actually meant it, they'd just describe them as Old El Paso hardshell tacos.
>>
>>22011200
you're supposed to fill them with stuff and then completely destroy it with your first bite, dropping all the fillings everywhere.
everyone knows this.
>>
>>22011285
I can't stand that shit, but that's exactly how I thought the American taco experience was supposed to be defined. Fucking first bite went well and after that was food confetti strewn underneath.

Microwaving fixes this. Forty five years of my life eating tacos like a fucking DUMB FUCK.
>>
>>22011184
>Why do these taste terrible by themselves?
Because you have the IQ of a doorknob
>>
>>22011308
more of a soft wrap kind guy anyway. dont really see the point of these hard ones.
>>
>>22011184
They taste terrible when they're not by themselves too. Just get regular corn tortillas
>>
>>22011184
This is true. I had some extras and didn't feel like making taco meat, so I thought I'd use them as chips. The ingredients said limed corn flour, so I think the lime gives the off taste.
>>
>>22011285
they don't fall apart of you let the spicy grease a in the meat a minute soften the shell.
>>
>>22011416
i just dont see the grease soaking in all over the thing. first bite and CRUK, the thing shatters into 10 sections and all your shit falls out. i've had it with those motherfuckers
>>
>>22011433
just in the middle
>>
>>22011440
oh ok i see what you mean. so it bends.
>>
>>22011309
Nah that's you.
>>
>>22011198
Just buy a bag of chips imbecile
>>
>>22011285
>>22011308
Skill issue
>>
>>22011565
What if they're all you have?
>>
>>22011198
if you have oil spray, give them a squirt, or lightly brush with oil, then bake according to package directions so theyre good and crispy, then dust with spice of choice. cajun spice, chili powder and lime salt, etc. then they will taste good on their own.
>>
>>22011568
then you dont have any way to make them taste better. idiot
>>
>>22011582
See: >>22011580

Nice to hear from somebody who knows how to cook.
