Why does it say 7-8 minutes? Surely that's far too long.

You're supposed to take the saucepan and hit it against your head and beat yourself to death. Try it next time.

>>22013182
it used to be right, but microplastics make water boil hotter now so it's way too long
>>
>>22013182
they have to account for people who add pasta to nonboiling water. same reason the instructions on frozen pizza work whether or not you preheat the oven, because a lot of people put the pizza in the cold oven so they account for that

yummers! paste!

Whatever the lower end time they say is perfect if you time it exactly. Pull it at 7 minutes and you are golden. Also skim half a cup of the pasta water before you drain it. Use that to thicken the sauce and you don't need butter it works perfectly. Ask a few dashes of Cholula and some kind of meat and you have a perfect meal.
>>
>>22013315
Oh you don't need milk either, just skim the water and add it in slowly while stirring and it will come together. Forgot a few dashes of pepper or a bbq seasoning goes a long way as well.
>>
>>22013182
it's more like 6-7 minutes

>>
>>22014093

who the fuck knows? i can't keep track with what does and doesn't trigger incels anymore. the list is a mile long.
>>
>>22014109
Food chuds that aren’t the fast food kind have always done that about skim
Because it’s garbage
>>
>>22013317
>>22013315
Why wouldn’t you want the butter and milk
>>
>>22014155
It's just unnecessary, I've tried it both ways and can't tell a difference. The pasta water does a good job thickening it and the cheese flavor is the main thing you taste. It also lets you control exactly how thick or thin you want it and it doesn't cool it down like milk and butter would unless you go the extra step to heat those as well. Also it's just easier and if you are being lazy it's all about saving steps.
>>
>>22014163
It bothers me that you can’t tell the difference, that’s where all the fat comes from the dish.
It’s certainly lazier, and i can support that reason. I always put the pot back on the stove on low to melt the butter and the heat up the milk together before adding the powder.
>>
>>22014168
This.

That dude is fucked in the head.
>>
>>22014183
Milk with fat in it tastes better. Both skim and whole milk contain sugar in the form of lactose. If you drink whole milk you feel like you consumed something substantial. But you can just chug skim milk all you want and you might as well be drinking sugary soda. You might drink more sugar than you want to. Whole milk promotes satiety.
>>
>>22014183
Fat isn’t what makes you fat. Excess sugar and no exercise makes people fat
Also that’s a really creepy picture, not kawaii
>>22014210
This is weird AI

Do Americans really eat this slop?
>>
7-8 minutes is the average time it takes to cook pasta in near-boiling water.
>>
>>22013182
Because it tells you to put the pasta back in the hot saucepan. The pasta will keep cooking so you want to slightly undercook it to make sure it doesn’t end up as mush in the end result.

Hell yeah bby

These fucking instructions tell you to return it to the pot, and THEN mix in the milk and cheese. Why the fuck would you do it like that? Why not mix the milk and cheese together into a nice sauce and THEN add the drained pasta? Please explain why the instructions aren't like this
>>
>>22014379
It wouldn't make any difference and would just add an extra step for no reason, because it's not cheese, it's "cheese sauce mix". It'll emulsify into a watery thin nasty sauce no matter what you do, so mixing with the milk first wouldn't accomplish anything.

>he doesn't know you can cook it in 4 minutes in an instant pot with 70% less water and energy used
FWIW they're actually popular in shithole countries because of how efficient they are in terms of energy and water used.
>>
>>22014444
SO why wouldn't you want the extra nutrition?
>>
>>22014419
It’s all weird and clumpy if you do it like the box says

>>22014444
Again, it bothers me that you can’t taste the difference between water and milk +butter. Also this >>22014461
Fat is good for you
>>
>>22014459
no thanks, it's already slop and i don't live in a shithole so i have unlimited potable water and the energy usage can only be measured by rounding up to a cent, i don't need it fucked by an efficiency robot
>>
>>22014459
Just buy the microwavable cups that point.
>>
You just have to cook it until it's al dante
