I'm a dumb fuck who can't cook and I'm trying to make new shit so I bought some pearl barley and cooked it up for the first time. I thought two 1lb bags was a pretty small amount but my retarded ass failed to consider that this shit swells up MASSIVELY as it cooks. Now I've got a metric fucking ton of cooked barley and need to use it up.So far all I've done is eat it like oatmeal in the morning (mix it with a little peanut butter and jam) and went lazy faggot mode by mixing it with some canned beans and melted cheese for a quick bowl of slop, but I still have probably 7-8 full bowls worth left. It's surprisingly good, like a firmer form of oatmeal but with richer flavor. What can I do with this shit?
>>22013442Add it to beef stew and chicken soup. /thread
>>22013477This plus you can freeze the barley because OP has a mountain of barley
>>22013491You can also incorporate it into bread, though OP's self-characterization suggests he might not be there yet. But it's dead simple to add a heaping helping of cooked barley to soup or stew, even Campbell's or Dinty Moore or whatever.
sprinkle a few grains into your rice any time you have rice. thats what the japanese do to add a small amount of nutrition and flavor

Or basic info? Barley is almost entirely carbs and a bit of protein. 2 pound of barley are like 3500kcal.
>>22013962I don't care about nutrition shit, I'm not a dietician or some workout looksmaxxing retard.
>>22013962>3500kcalIs that supposed to sound like a lot?
>>22014457That's approximately the same amount of energy released when detonating 3.5kg of dynamite.
>>22014492So? I do that every time I take a shit :DDDD
