I'm a dumb fuck who can't cook and I'm trying to make new shit so I bought some pearl barley and cooked it up for the first time. I thought two 1lb bags was a pretty small amount but my retarded ass failed to consider that this shit swells up MASSIVELY as it cooks. Now I've got a metric fucking ton of cooked barley and need to use it up.

So far all I've done is eat it like oatmeal in the morning (mix it with a little peanut butter and jam) and went lazy faggot mode by mixing it with some canned beans and melted cheese for a quick bowl of slop, but I still have probably 7-8 full bowls worth left. It's surprisingly good, like a firmer form of oatmeal but with richer flavor. What can I do with this shit?

You can also incorporate it into bread, though OP's self-characterization suggests he might not be there yet. But it's dead simple to add a heaping helping of cooked barley to soup or stew, even Campbell's or Dinty Moore or whatever.

Do you not read nutritional information on stuff you buy? Or basic info? Barley is almost entirely carbs and a bit of protein. 2 pound of barley are like 3500kcal.
