Do you wear gloves while cooking?
>>
>>22018303
eww that's like wearing condoms during sex
>>
>>22018303

there is zero (0) reason to use gloves when cooking unless you're washing your hands a ton and destroying your skin or you're cooking with something like raw chicken

all it does is poison your food and your skin if you sweat in them, all synthetic gloves do it, there is not one safe "food grade" pair of synthetic gloves

my post is going to fall on deaf ears and i don't care it was cathartic to write
>>
if it helps me avoid washing my hands a bunch, I need to process a bunch of fatty raw meat or something, or its some cold food thats eaten without further heating up it helps being more hygienic

the content of your post and the pic-not-rel you chose to attach it to suggest to me that you may want to look into medication
>>
only when working with spicy peppers

i might want to give myself or a friend a handy later, don't want the spicy pp

I started getting pretty bad eczema recently, so if I'm cooking a lot and constantly washing my hands, yes.
I've had to start letting my dishes pile up throughout the day and then wash them at once wearing gloves.
I don't like this, but it's better than my whole hand cracking and pus oozing out.
>>
>>22018303
only if I have to mix something messy and sticky with my hands. otherwise no.
>>
>>22018303
not usually but I do keep a pair of gloves around. I use them mainly for mixing stuff like meatballs cause I hate having sticky hands. and they're handy for handling hot stuff like if you want to do something like pull apart a piece of chicken you just cooked, or whatever.

But then what if you have to touch something else while your gloves are covered in fat and grease? You'll either get the thing dirty, or you have to take your gloves off and replace them immediately.
>>
>>22018303
if i open a cooking video/short on youtube and see these gloves i immediately close the video
>>
>>22018406
>or you have to take your gloves off and replace them immediately.
you gotta get a pair of nice big reusable gloves you can take on and off, don't use some shitty disposable ones
>>
>>22018303
No, I don't like the taste of microplastics in my food or synthetic rubber. Get that bitch ass shit outta here son.
>>
>>22018436
all your food is transported in plastic
all your food is watered via kilometers of plastic tubes
all your breathing air is full of microplastic from degrading paints protecting infrastructure and car tires

Have fun
>>
>>22018436
hahahahahaha what a fuckin nerd
>>
>>22018303
No. I just was my hands constantly when I'm preparing meals and have to use lotion everyday so my hands don't crack and bleed. I also can't stand touching raw meat so I use a big fork, a knife, and tongs to handle and cut meat.
>>
>>22018412
those are for washing dishes, not cooking
what i'm imagining is: you're wearing gloves while handling (for example) raw chicken, you cut the chicken, now you want to season it. you'll contaminate your jar of salt and get chicken juice all over your pepper grinder if you don't take the gloves off.
>>
>>22018303
No, I'm not autistic, and I live in the first world where we invented this thing called soap
>>
>>22018468
they're fine for cooking too. a glove is a glove nigga.
>>
>>22018303
Damn right I do. I cook a lot of spicy shit and have made the mistake of touching my eye after in the past.
>>
Yeah when handling carcinogenic stuff

>>
>>22018303
no lol
>>
>>22018602
what good do gloves do if you're going to eat it after handling?
>>
No, I just incel rinse
>>
>>22018311
Acrylonitrile gloves are fine for everything except dichloromethane, chloroform or acetone. Little to nothing (in reference to plasticizers incorporated into the polymer) is going to leach onto foods on contact.

Latex gloves id stay away from for food contact applications as they often have a light coating that will get onto everything. They're also useless in the laboratory

The shitty LDPE/HDPE transparent gloves are not that different from food packaging materials. Not necessarily saying they're safe but they pose little to no risk of anything
