for me, it's suher/she
>>22019969I had some walking taco (while seated)
>>22019969Sushi Hub is the McDonalds of Australian sushi. Go to a nice local place, I beg you.
>>22020256They're consistently fresh and at least I know what I'm getting, and it's near my home so it's quick. There are apparently much better places around but I haven't really exspearminted with them yet and don't want to pay $60 for lunch
>>22020296Takeaway orders will never be more than $20-25, if you're paying $60, you've gone to the wrong place, or some kind of gourmet sushi place. The place I like to go to in the Melbourne CBD does full hand rolls for like $4 a piece, and they're my favourite sushi place.
>>22020300maybe I should expand my horizons. Also this was delivered by an uberjeet so it does cost like 40 percentages more
>>22020303>uberjeetthat'll do it
>>22019969Is it just me or does the soda look a bit weird in OP pic.
>>22020306It's just the ice making it look weird.
>>22020306that's soy sauce anon. and served with a side of iced black covfefe
>>22020306the mug under the chopsticks is clearly coffee, not soda, dumbass
>>22020312that's "clearly" soy sauce, the mug on the top left hand side is coffee
>>22019969pretty easy to make basic sushi rolls at home by the way. canned tuna and salmon works great.
>>22020472takes a bit of effort to make the rice though, I find it easier to just buy sushi, I don't mind spending a bit of money to treat myself
>>22020476>takes a bit of effort to make the rice thoughyou think? takes just a few minutes in a pressure cooker, then throw in the oil/vinegar/sugar mix and its done. takes more effort to open the cans of fish.
>>22020476>I don't mind spending a bit of money to treat myselfi just resent paying 70-80cents per little cut section of roll. we make about 80 for $8 of ingredients.
2 hard boiled eggs on toast>pic rel
>>22020488at least it's good toast. no cheese on the eggs? I think if I had good toast like that some bacon and hollandaise would really drive that home. especially if the eggiwegs were cooked with a hint of vinegarhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM3yHvxbvao
>>22020480I buy 3-4 takeaway rolls for ~$4 aud a pop, and I can get multiple different fillings without putting in any extra effort
>>22020502what do you get for your $3.50? one of those rolls? >effortyou're posting on the cooking board and whining about effort?
>>22020567I think anon was talking about no effort for his sushi rorrs
>>22020567They're decently sized, 3-4 of them is a whole meal, small people only need 2.I cook my dinners, this kind of sushi is lunchtime fast food.
>>22019969Looks already precisely sauced. Why do you need the bowl of soy?
>>22020621Chill out, Mr. Miyagi.
>>22020619yeah fair enough. my kids like this stuff and can eat a load so its well worth making it at home.
As an Aussie surrounded by sushi constantly, I do not understand the appeal of sushi. It's so bland and not particularly nutritious.
>>22020634Agree 100%. But it's literally faster and easier to buy than a burger or sandwich or salad or pizza these days. The encroachment is complete.
>>22020638It's only really cheap for one roll, which isn't enough to satisfy. For enough for a meal the cost is on par with other fast food. And I know cheaper better places in the CBD for borek, jianbing, stuff with flavours and substance.
>>22020634It tastes fresh and light, but the rice makes it filling, it's good for hot days.
>>22020645There's this one spot in the cbd that does a rice bowl with meat for like 10 bucks, can't remember the name though. It's right next to melbourne central.
>>22020654There's a few that do that around the CBD, mostly Chinatown. There's also $3.5 bao buns in Central. All better options than sushit.
>>22020634fish veg a rice isn't particularly nutritious?
>>22020661The fish in fast food sushi is more preservative than meat and rice is pretty much the least nutritious starch source there is.
>>22020664i dont believe you
>>22020501some hot saucenice and simple
