The unsung hero of the kitchen.
>>22021706you need to break the habit. convert to washable towels or you'll never be free.
>>22021736no. i will deforest the amazon for kitchen roll. try getting out of poverty
>>22021736I've been trying to get my family to do that, but they refuse.I recall back in Home Economics class in high school, we used reusable towels that got washed. It really saves a lot of money.
>>22021736I'd need a hundred cotton kitchen towels to match how many paper towels I use
>>22021736meh. I go through a lot of towels AND paper towels. they serve slightly different purposes imo. if I lived somewhere that didn't collect compost, I would probably try to cut down on my paper towel use. but since I can compost paper towels I don't really feel bad about it. it's an expense, but not a huge one.
the villain everyone likes for some reason
>>22021793why is that, anyway. I have never felt the need to use this shit in my life. there are so many better ways to cover or wrap things - reusable containers, tinfoil, towels. not only do those not create plastic waste, but they're so much easier to use than plastic wrap which is a pain in the ass to even work with. stupid boomer shit, has no real place in a kitchen.
>>22021786you really dont. you can clean your entire kitchen with one towel. i have like 10 towels and cook every day and it's fine. how much choccy milk are you spilling?
>>22021786well each roll has like 400 paper towels so you're good
>>22021786>>22021806nvm i'm retarded... sorry
My carbon footprint is probably about 90% paper tauels
>>22021800there are other reasons to use paper towel besides just wiping down your kitchen. I use them for things like drying produce after washing it, soaking up fats and liquids, wiping off knives, plates or cutting boards to reuse them without fully washing them, or sopping up leftover bits of food and sauce from dishes that I don't want going down the drain (I can then throw the whole bundle into the compost, paper towel included. better than having chunks of shit in your sink). I have a lot of kitchen towels and use them for drying dishes and wiping down surfaces. if I used towels for everything I use paper towels for, I'd be doing a load of laundry every two days. fuck that. I also don't like using towels for things like wiping a knife I'm going to reuse, because unless I'm pulling out a fresh towel just for that, then the towel isn't as clean as a piece of paper towel right off the roll. towels are good for cleaning the kitchen at large, but not ideal for smaller scale use. paper towel is compostable, it's not expensive. I'm not gonna stop using it.
>>22021832I'm trans btw
>>22021736How am i supposed to de-fat my stew with wahsable towels? They just don't pickup the grease in the same way,
>>22021837fat is good in stew. but if you really need to remove some scum or fat then there are metal mesh skimmers designed for exactly that purpose
>>22021866Ohhhhh, so that's why it's called a skimmerIt skims off the fat
>>22021866You obviously don't know what teh fuck you're talking about.
>>22021736>laughs in cockroach
>>22022403dont leave your dirty wet towels in a heap on the floor you trog>>22021988what makes you say that
>>22022403Go back to Istanbul
>>22021736No. I won't. Disgusting shit that gets continuously more disgusting. Ya let me wipe my hands and face with disgusting unhygienic shit. Kys. Inb4 just wash them bro. Do you have like 6 fucking towels in use all at once?
I get basically unlimited free paper towels because I work at the paper towel factory
>>22021797>plastic wastehow else are you gonna replenish the oil for the next civilization after the next ice age, anon?
The beta misfit who was mistook for a hero.
>>22022409>he thinks dirty wet towels exist>>22022415>he pretends he doesn't have cockroaches
>>22022425if you dont think dirty towels exist then why are you freaking out about cockroaches?>>22022418>t. malding Big Paper fat cat
>>22022424tupperware is one of those things i look back and still cringe that i used growing up and owned early on as a young adult. i remember one time i stored leftover tomato soup in one and then microwaved it. it permanently etched the tomato soup into the plastic at the fill line. i still cringe so fucking hard every time i think of it.
>>22022425I kill all Turks I see
>>22022428why do dirty towels = cockroaches in your mind, anon?
>>22022445it was the only reason i could think of as to why >>22022403 mentioned cockroaches. care to elaborate?
>>22021736how about you convert my boomer dad not to wipe his nose on the washable kitchen towels
>>22022496you came out of your dad's dickhole and you're seething about a little snot? just move out if you're so ungrateful, he probably doesnt want you around either.
>>22022419>I work at the paper towel factoryThen maybe you can give me some fucking answers. Why did every SINGLE brand switch to those small cuck paper towels? I fucking hate that select/choose-a-size bullshit, because you can not get a full fucking sheet when you need it. I checked Safeway, Kroger, Target, Walmart, Amazon, every store every brand it's always the small sheets. Where are the full size?>just tear off two!Yeah with that seam in the middle that rips instantly? Fuck the hell off. Plus two of those cuck sheets is slightly bigger than 1 old style full sheet so it's actually making you waste more. Fucking paper towel jews.
>>22021736ok Shaquille jeeeez
>>22022440Definitely liquids in reusable plastic are a not a wise move. These days I'd say simple deli containers gets the job done at a fraction of the cost. As long as you're not microwaving anything in them. For that, it's porcelain bowls or some glass. I use picrel to steam vegetables in the microwave.
>>22022593everyone likes the half sheets. you're honestly the only person I've ever heard complain about them. i assume they switched to them because of demand. I'm in manufacturing, not marketing.honestly I don't when use a half sheet most of the time, I tear the half sheet in half and use a quarter sheet
>saves you 30 minutes to an hour every day>saves your hands from getting soapy and nasty the real hero
>>22021706Paper towels are great but for me it's the multitudes of towels I've taken from work.
the problem with reusable towels is you have to wash themand then your washing machine gets all the oils, spills, food, etc in them
>>22022683based i used to do the same thing.
>>22022673>leaks>>22022685>then your washing machine gets all the oils, spills, food, etc in themnever happened to me and I've been using towels for years. just wash towels separate with hot water and it's fine. if you wash with your clothes you will get oil stains.
>>22022693>leaksget a countertop one if you're worried about that. but it is rare>never happened to me and I've been using towels for years.the oils will liquify from the heat and then congeal in your drain pipe. same thing that happens if you pour grease down your sink drain>if you wash with your clothes you will get oil stains.or if you wash after your clothes, which means you have to buffer them with other things that will get stained instead
>>22022673>have to "prewash" dishes because the fucking machine can't get off 50% of the foodyeah nah. handwashing is superior, just be wary of shutting the tap off.
>>22022711most oils you'll be cleaning up are liquid at room temperature and will not congeal in your drain pipe, especially in the small amounts that will be on your rags. unless you're cleaning up a bunch of animal fat which i dont know why you would be.>or if you wash after your clothes, which means you have to buffer them with other things that will get stained insteadnever happened to me. only when i was with the rags, which i simply stopped doing when i noticed it.
>>22022747you're probably using it wrong>>22022758animal fats are far more involved in my cooking than cancercous plant oils
>>22022762i cook with animal fat too but I'm rarely if ever soaking towels with them. i just dont see why this would happen..
>>22022643This. I use paper towels for everything, and tear them in half like you. I don't even buy tissues anymore, because PTs hold up 1000% better against my facial hair.
>>22021706The love interest
>>22022762>you're probably using it wrongnope. all dishwasher manuals tell you to prewash dishes. what's the fucking point of using a machine when you have to do that?
Truly a blessing, but I try to at least reduce their use by buying those perforated into strips.
>>22022864unless you mean scraping off hard matter (bones, etc) from dishes, i never prewash. i just put some detergent in the dispenser and some outside of it for pre-rinse
>>22022878I'm a goyslave for these things. I could put a bowl with baked on egg residue in and it comes out clean. Regular diswasher goo just doesn't compare. This level of hebrew magic actually merits the pricetag.
>>22022673I don't have room in my kitchen for a dishwasher unfortunately
>>22022890i use cheap as shit walmart powder and it does great. I think it's like $2 a box
>>22022902If it works, it works. I've never tried it. I'm a single guy, so a 40 pack of gels will last me an entire year or more.
800ft per roll
