>Not heat treated, must be cooked prior to consumption
No one who eats salami actually follows this right?
>>
>>22023114
the kind with the white mold on the outside has been fermented. if you asked the usda or similar they'd also say technically it should be cooked before eating. but no you dont have to.
>>
do people enjoy 1 square cm sized fat concentrations in their mouths?
>>
>>22023119
its the best part
>>
>>22023114
Wait you are supposed to cook it?
I've literally never heard that before.
>>
that's just a legal disclaimer so they can't get sued if anyone ever gets sick.

No, nobody cooks it. It's cured.
>>
>>22023119
The fat is flavour, cooklet.
>>

its lard someone grabbed from their lard bag
they stuffed the lard into a grinder
then it enters your mouth as lard

do you eat lard as is on a daily basis?
>>
>>22023163
it's spiced lard fermented next to spiced meat which takes on a nice tangy spiced meat flavor, cooklette

for me, it's my home baked salami. you get that crispiness from the rendered fat that just can't be beat
>>
>>22023171
does curing even do anything besides draw small amount of moisture out of the lard?
>>
>>22023181
the heat of the home cooks the salami

>what is lipolysis

First I'm hearing of it and I'm from Italy. Is this another one of those nonsense American "rules" like not breaking pasta (we do it all the time), not eating fish with dairy (pizza al tonno exists) or cooking exclusively with virgin oil (we practically never do that)?
>>
>>22023403
No, this rule is not like the others you’ve listed. Those are rules come from Americans’ cultural misperceptions of Italy.
This rule is for safety reasons for fear of contracting an illness from eating raw meat. Official government organizations endorse it.

Must be a burger thing.
>>
>>22023404
Sounds dumb. Do they cook prosciutto crudo, too? lmao
It's demonstrably fine.
>>
>>22023119
You don't see me judging when you enjoy cubic yards of cum in your mouth
>>
>>22023119
Ask you're mom after she sucks my dick tonight.
>>
>>22023114
it's raw dry cured+mold, tastes the best imho
>>

>Not heat treated, must be cooked prior to consumption
What nanny state do you live in? Holy fuck.
>>
>>22023404
Salami is not a slab a raw meat anymore tho
>>
>>22023114
The heat of the stomach cooks the sausage
>>
>>22023160
no anon, the fat carries the flavour
fat allows the other flavours to coat your mouth
fat on it's own has very little flavour
