Why is this thing so well regarded in the culinary world? Is it worth it?What's a good way to try it, and in what dish?
>>22025908oil your bread with good evoo, heavily season with zaatar (like in your pic) and spread some labneh on top. it's great. the only other way I've used it is in a yogurt based marinade for chicken.
>>22025993This guy knows what's up
It's a pleasant mix of herbal, nutty, and sour. Great with eggs, cream cheese, roasted veg, fish, and chicken.
>>22026037Babygirl....
>>22026042i hate food photography so damn much. you know they spent an hour arranging every head of garlic and lemon slice and chicken piece. then you make it and it just looks like a pan full of slop.
>>22025908I like it on toasted bread with eggs and avocado
>>22026051Shit look good though can't deny that
I make a halaal cart style garlic sauce with it
>>22025908dip nice bread in olive oil then into the zaatar. yum
>>22025908unironically sumac sucks and the sesame seeds make the texture weird.better off using just oregano and majoram
>>22026755the entire middle east disagrees
>>22026759appeal to popularity
>>22026809yes
>>22025908It's accessibly delicious, not crazy expensive, and unless you're middle eastern you probably didn't eat it growing up, so it's novel to you. It's sort of like "what's the deal with (east) Asians and cheescake?"
