I've been busy moving everything to the outdoor kitchen for summer and I want to make something cold like potato salad. Other than the normal onions, relish, mustard and mayonaise, what are some good herbs or seasonings i can put in my potato salad?

Not now Chen, I am taking Mistress Yukaris advice and increasing the variety of our food library.

How about some capers?
Maybe artichoke hearts?

Meats? Very interesting. I never tried that. Thanks.

Capers I can see. Artichoke hearts chopped fine? That's different. Alright.

Are there any seasonings in particular that work well with potato salad such as dill? Perhaps even some lemon juice or apple cider vinegar? My main issue is I am not sure which seasonings conflict with each other. Or do many people just throw it all in and see what happens?

I agree, lemon kids and ACV are must-try.
At the risk of overcomplicating things, what do you think about shallots or chives? Maybe garlic scales.
I could see a little paprika adding some boldness, too.
But, sometimes simpler is better. You can always prep everything and make a handful of small batches at once to compare them.

lemon juice* NOT lemon kids
Do NOT attempt to use lemon kids in your potato salad. This creates mustard gas.

As a yokai I could see seasoning some young kids from the human village with lemon and it being a tasty addition. More of an entree really.

Do you think fennel could work.
Or maybe... caraway?
Just spitballing here.

Probably on it's own? That's what is so confusing about this. I doubt you can just throw everything in. There are probably sets of herbs, seasonings and ingredients that go well with each other in a potato salad. What groups of ingredients go well together?

Alot of carbs. I am thinking one might die.

Swap out the mayo for 5-10% fat Greek yogurt. Make a tzitziki version of potato salad.
>Rosemary
>lemon juice
>evoo
>salt
>oregano
>marjoram if you can find it
>ASSLOAD OF FRESH GARLIC
>Cukes
>mint (fresh or dried, or both)

potato salad, Japan :O often has ham or sausage. this one has red onion, fish sausage, and sundried tomato

I like my tzatziki with dill, but this is definitely the best way to do it for a hot summer. Goes great with whatever.

Why is this Ran so slutty, though?

In Japan the potato salad had pumpkin in it and it was like a pumpkin salad. Odd thing to have for breakfast at a Business Hotels.

Ran has a nice figure and rarely shows it off. I approve of this.

I've heard of this and sour cream.

For me it’s chopped hard boiled eggs and chopped scallions

Tarragon goes well in potato salad. It has a mild anise flavour.
