One of the worst concepts in dining. Its a fucking gimmick designed to make the line seem less long than it actually is, not more efficient. It's only really two lanes if you have two windows handling and serving orders. Two lanes leading to the same one window doesn't do shit. It's also a driving hazard. Since the lanes don't lead to separate windows, the cars in both lanes have to merge in a single lane with cars sometimes cutting each other off to do so. I'm surprised there haven't been more traffic accidents in the drive thru the way this system is and everybody being impatient to stuff their face. (The person who finishes ordering first should got ahead first, but sometimes you have an asshole who wants to cut first no matter what).
They dont give a fuck about safety. Im convinced CVS designs their lots to be such shit to encourage accidents so they can sell more laxitives
>>22047340WAWA lots are death traps too.
>>22047338>Two lanes leading to the same one window doesn't do shit.Taking 2 orders simultaneously and having the kitchen prepare them simultaneously then bringing them into a single queue to collect IS more efficient than taking and prepping 1 order at a time. you're retarded bud.
>>22047348>black wagie teenagers capable of multitaskinglmaoing at ur tardation
>>22047338I’m genuinely surprised these things don’t lead to more road rage encounters the way they rely on people to act civil and yield to one another
Yeah well you're going to keep enforcing them by giving them your money because you're a fucking slave to the overpriced burgers.
>>22047366I get doordash now.
What they need to do is bring back the duplicate menu. Why tf is there now only one menu and it's right where the speaker/mic is? They use to have two so when you are sitting in line you can view the menu, make your decision and be ready to give it when you are at the speaker. Now I have to wait until I am at the box and have them wait for me to make up my mind.
>>22047348This. There's a reason they have people at chick fil a out there with ipads taking everyone's order as soon as they come in. The more orders they can get in the faster they can make them instead of waiting around. In theory they shouldn't even have drive through ordering anymore. You should just order on your phone and it would tell you when it's ready so you can just drive up and grab it and drive off. Won't happen until boomers die off though because they would throw a shit fit not being able to have someone else take their order.
>>22047338your entire post misses the point.it's to get the cars off the road and to stop gumming up the parking lot.>>22047360why would that ever be an issue, anon?you don't live in a shitty area, do you?>>22047376why are you going to a fast food place without a craving for that place's food?seriously, think about it.why would you randomly, without a hankering for an exact menu item, ever just hit a random drive-thru?>inb4 "what if i get hungry while i'm out and just wanted to get something quick?"you do schedule out your day like an adult, don't you?that's means you shouldn't have random bouts of hunger, they should happen around the same time everyday.
>>22047389chik-fil-a also now only uses one drive-thru lane for orders and the other one is a qr code you scan with the app to let them know you've arrived to get your mobile order.
>>22047340Kek CVS really does have the worst parking lots
In n Out tried this and retards road rage with each other about getting in front of someone where it merges. It's so fucking dumb. They try to ride the bumper of the car ahead to prevent cars in the other lane from merging ahead of them. It's especially funny because people don't read the sign that says use both lanes. They pile into one lane like lemmings then get pissed when you drive passed them in the other lane. Nothing funnier than curting in front of fast food retards.
>>22047391YOU ARE A LIAR!
>>22047338I haven't used a drive thru in over 15 years. If I can't order it online then walk inside and skip the line for it instantly, I don't eat their slop. Drive thrus are for npcs who do not value their time.
>>22047487i am not.yours hasn't updated yet?
>>22047490Yea, parking walking in, dealing with riff raff is really valuing your time.
>>22047762Yes I save 80-90% of the time that would be wasted sitting in a drive thru repeating my order to a distracted minimum wage employee through a low quality speaker, because I am not a retard.
>>22047776I order on the app and just say my code to the speaker and drive up
>>22047375Are you here for DoorDash?
What I hate about it is melanin. As in, I will have made my order, but I can't pull ahead because of the cars in front of me. So I chill, but concurrently to this, a car of melanin pulls up and places their order on the other side while I'm waiting.Must be a busy day in the kitchen! Melanin car finishes order before I can pull up. Once car ahead of us both starts moving, melanin car jukes to try to get ahead of me, a person lacking melanin. I don't even get mad, I expected it. I position myself so that they will HAVE to hit my car if they wish to proceed. Sometimes, I even roll down the window just a little and give a little 'be gone' wave telling them to back the fuck up if it's close. We share a planet with these people.
Why not just walk-in and order? That way if they fuck up your order (check) you're already there.
>>22047389>people at chick fil a out there with ipads taking everyone's order as soon as they come in.Fuck that. Let me get situated first before you start grilling me for an order
>>22047338it'd be fine if they had a light to direct traffic
>>22047852no indoor dining after 10 pm and why the fuck would you be ordering fast food any time before 10 pm
It works just fine at all places I've been to. Always sucks to get stuck behind some moron who places a super long complicated order, if you can just pull up to the other one instead you don't have to wait for their dumb ass
Taco Bell solved that problem.
>>22047964They should have a wagie dressed as Ronald doing it desu
>>22048059Wish they’d bring back the dorito taco subscription back. The local franchise owner actually banned me from entering The local restaurants because id only ever order the free taco, but i kept going through the drivethru anyways
>>22047338>It's also a driving hazard. The line of boomers stretching around a chik fil a and out into the street is a much bigger driving hazard so if the demand calls for it then let them have it.
>>22047338there have been countless occasions where I get to skip some boomer in the opposite line because they are ordering $80 worth of McDonald's at the speaker while I just tell them the code on the (((app)))
>>22048286Where I used to live, the entrance to CFA was about two car lengths away from the exit of a traffic circle. On a bad day, it would not just clog up the traffic circle but also back up traffic onto the highway that had a turn off to the traffic circle. 99% of the people inconvenienced weren't going to CFA.
>>22048250Never heard about that subscription but I could see people making store owners angry by actually using it for all thirty days. If it were me, I'd probably walk up there every afternoon during Happier Hour, so they'd at least get that extra dollar for a soft drink. From a caloric point of view, about the best you could do is get six calories per penny from the tacos, if you went all thirty days. That's not a bad value.
Not my problemIf I'm getting fast food, I'm paying some brown person to leave it at my doorstep and not speak to me at all
>>22048884Imagine getting french fries delivered... or a sandwich that has lettuce on it. Couldn't be me!
>>22048888If I'm drunk enough to order fast food I really don't care how it arrivesI want the slop
